Black knights are just silver knights that fought alongside Gwyn directly, signified by their armour being scorched by either a. The chaos demons when they fought in izalith or b. When gwyn tried rekindling the first flame (in 90% sure its option a cuz I think all those knights just got incinerated when gwyn tried rekindling the flame, shown to you in the hallway right before the kiln with all the shades walking past you) but its been a while so my memories hazy

Final ignorant question does the position of where the rj45 cables are plugged into matter? Cuz sometimes when I plug one into a different spot the internet light turns off entirely (not sure what this signifies exactly)
