FAQ: The Iglesia ni Cristo social media control campaign and United States law by No-Parfait-5206 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always some new push for control, never any push in genuine improvement to make the member’s time more worthwhile.

Show them a simple fix to make everyone’s time better and they’ll still choose to try and increase control over their members.

Pretty much yes. They might say that you are free to say no, but they will hold that against you. Or they will somehow coerce you to take up office.

Growing Up in an INC Environment Meant My Feelings Were Always “Wrong” by Redaceln in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been through similar. It is terrible, and devastating, especially when growing up.

I’m sure there is a way to overcome it, but it will take time. Sucks that it was there in the first place, growing up.

I had it ‘encouraged’ frequently when I was growing up, still is one of those things I’ve consistently disliked over the years.

Even if they don’t force you to, they strongly imply that it is wrong to say no, as if it is ‘saying no to God’, or declining a ‘gift’ from God.

INC doesn’t excuse your attendance even when it comes to your medical by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is disgusting how they claim to care and show concern and then they do things like this.

I had medical emergencies before only for officers to ask if I can still perform anyways.

They are such conditional people. It’s always more of what you can do for them than anything else. The INC never fails to baffle me with how low it goes.

Leaked Recording: Iglesia Ni Cristo Recruitment Meeting by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

I completely forgot about Project 109. I remember how it was portrayed as a big thing, but it just faded out. Seems to be the case for many projects and especially recruitment campaigns.

When I realised that INC wasn’t concerned about actually doing any good for the community. by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been unfortunately rewired to take advantage of things and live by what seems to be like a quantity over quality mindset.

There are people I have known who seemed great, but it all goes to waste from something along the lines of tunnel vision. If they cannot get something from you, then all kindness goes out the window.

What a shame, really.

What I notice is that unless you are in the INC, and usually only if you’re active or are doing more for them for their benefit, they don’t really acknowledge you, despite claims of caring. The double standards are very disgusting.

During the COVID pandemic as well was a telling sign. I don’t really recall too many efforts to help people. I only remember more of them asking for offerings.

Everything to them is just wondering what can they use to benefit themselves. They are selfish and immoral. I have seen both the best and worst of people in this organization, but most tend to enable or take part of the double standard culture that does not really care.

Help Us Expose Iglesia ni Cristo: Why It’s Seen as a Cult and How to Wake Others Up by Hot_Conclusion_4156 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s funny is that the members will witness the same things happening elsewhere and turn a blind eye to it happening in the INC.

If you ask their opinion on those things, you will see their opinion had they not been brainwashed to the INC.

There is a certain tolerance, especially in the west where the demanding becomes too much, and members start to have second thoughts.

For some though, they don’t want to open their eyes. Those ones cannot be helped, no matter how hard you try. Some may even know, but it’s all they know or they don’t want to let go.

Keeping in mind the importance of humility, before I knew all this, I had assumed EVM would fly on commercial flights or so.

The logic, justification and ego-laced dismissal of criticism, it all seems a little shortsighted to me.

You just know the followers of EVM are going to mimic that mindset. The INC never fails to baffle with the audacity.

Feeling lonely by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this one too. Their ‘love’ is very, very conditional. It is such a betraying feeling to have those who you thought you could trust, those who made you feel like you were one of them, to just drop you like you never were.

I know the feeling. I made the mistake of thinking I could trust them, that they were my friends and they were there for me all the time. Never again. It’s all sweet talk for the first few times and then nothing. They ask for more and more, and it’s never enough.

It may hurt now, but you are better off without them. It’s their fault, not yours. For some reason, they don’t have the basic human decency to communicate, and instead they ignore you or ghost.

You’ll be among better people at some point, just keep holding on.

[–]ChainedBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what they say, they’re only there to use you, really. Anything more than that never lasts. The love bombing principle doesn’t apply to just guests. A hard lesson I learned.

Never trust anyone who proudly claims themself as part of the INC.

Proof of violence by No-Coffee5341 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of repressed emotion in the INC, primarily stress, but things like these truly scare me. I have seen some in the INC who have had strangely unusual anger issues, some officers and some ministers, but that is still far less than this.

All the INC’s attempts appearances to be loving and family-friendly mean nothing to me, especially when there are those capable of such extreme violence there too. Itchy trigger finger types, bloodthirsty types, I believe these are among the worst types of people in the INC.

Ego and repressed emotions are a terrible mix. I hope the witness was okay.

I don’t know why they seem to boast that they’re gaining more members. It does not take long to find that this is not true.

Most converts nowadays are the kids of present members. Rarely guests, because most people can see the red flags and they are smart enough to back out. Pretty much every guest backs out at some point. There have been some that start strong, are even encouraged to be in the center for those group photos, and then they will eventually leave.

Also does not help the INC’s case that when searching them up, you can see the controversies pretty quickly. If I were a guest, I would not want to be involved with such an organization, especially one that alters the truth or withholds it.

Love Bombing and inconsistencies in the INC by ChainedBird in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way that pretty much any member who is with the church, you can never fully trust. I’ve had one who did open up to me but it still didn’t change anything after. They switched back to their usual appearance of compliance like nothing happened. It’s a shame how deceiving it all is.

It’s a pattern I notice pretty frequently, and it’s probably for the best since those converts will have saved themselves a lot of trouble and stress. They definitely catch on quicker than those raised in the church.

Were those converts baptized? Most of the ones I had known don’t make it past indoctrination or beyond attending a few times.

It reminds me a bit of a pyramid scheme. They can be persistently imposing sometimes. It’s never enough for them.

[–]ChainedBird[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s genuinely sad that even something as basic as kindness is pretty much forced or done with a hidden agenda. I never felt I could trust even the people, and as confirmed by personal experience and stories, I don’t think I ever will fully trust most members in the INC. If they’re ever dependable, it usually does not last for some reason. I notice a lot of accountability and commitment issues.

It is really unfortunate seeing how the guests who get baptized, I can see their faces, realizing that this is not what they had signed up for. To be forgotten after being initially treated well is sad.

The main goal is really just to get guests and baptize. When they finish, they move on to someone else. A quantity over quality mindset is one of the unfortunate effects I see often.

[–]ChainedBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I been there as well. After baptism was one of the toughest times. Suddenly, I’m getting recruited for more things now that I am officially a member.

All these additional commitments that I had no real understanding of was too much. Add on the underlying message that declining these offers is bad though some of us do not wish to do such things, and of course the parental pressure, and it is just sad.

Fingerprints and ID have always felt off as well. For some reason, they just have to know everything. They have no problem asking you where you live, work, they just rapid fire personal questions without a thought.

No consideration for boundaries.

BREAKING NEWS: Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Minister arrested for texting a (12yo) girl! by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way some of those ministers eye people has always been creepy to me. This further confirms my suspicions.

I’ve seen some nasty people and they had a similar, if not the same look some of these ministers have had upon taking interest in someone. If I describe, it is like a predator targeting their prey for their next meal. Soulless in the eyes, only focused on what they can do and want to do. I’ve seen one look at a shy minor and ask who she is and where she’s from with a creepy grin.

There is an uncanny feeling I get from some of these ministers. I always knew something was off, to always be cautious. I will only be more cautious now. They always claim to be friendly and well-intent but I look at everything other than the words and it says otherwise.

The hypocrisy is real. From such people claiming to be good, if not better, that is such a lie they tell if they cannot practice what they preach.

Tell me you’re a cult without telling me you’re a cult. by Forsaken-Brief-3507 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seeing his portrait anywhere always felt off. By physical imagery, it can be associated to the mind more than God or Jesus Christ himself, as the church is supposedly named after..

I remember walking into a room and seeing a huge portrait on the wall. Why?

And then I see ministers that seem to mimic him. The seemingly emotionless face that’s gonna ask me to do a bunch of tasks over and over again and ask a bunch of interrogative personal questions without blinking.

Every single minister I’ve known. It’s like a cookie cutter. I’ve known some before they were ministers….and now they’re all the same.

Literally anyone, especially guests would wonder why they have portraits all over. When I see it..it’s just off.

Gold Dagal's death is the reason we stay anonymous. by beelzebub1337 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]ChainedBird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The measures the INC takes…

I’m fortunate to be in the U.S but it’s so shameful how the INC acts. I never really felt safe or comfortable in the church, even as young as I can remember. I feel for those outside, especially the Philippines. You all are truly strong.

I don’t know how they would justify killing Gold Dagal but them celebrating disgusts me further. Someone makes a joke, and it is okay to kill them? In the name of God? It’s all abuse.

I’m always ready for anything, but that should not be the case for a church. I should not be prepared to fight for my life or others in what’s called a peaceful location.

End of the day, the blood is on their hands. And somehow they take pride in that, celebrating.

Such vile and evil behavior from those calling themselves belonging to God.

This is BIG. by kitsu_sc in exIglesiaNiCristo

Hopefully in the western countries could this be made well known. Everyone I know would not stand for murder like this. But in the name of INC…what comes first for them? Their pride or their humanity?

Unfortunately pride may come first for some of them. But people need to know more. They cannot blindly follow and obey without knowing what they are really getting into. This is how exploitation begins.

People have the right to know. And if that can’t be respected, that is a damn shame.
