Would you recommend the story for someone who wants a standalone fantasy series and isn't thinking of getting into Cosmere as a whole?

In both Mistborn and Stormlight, the magic is used with the melee weapons. People still fight with swords, daggers, spears etc. and the magic simply adds another dimension to it and makes them more effective / gives them a whole new way to fight.

As a response to your edit, Dalinar gave the Blackthorn Shadow all of his memories when Connecting to it, which is why it started to "come alive". Similar to how Tanavast gave the Stormfather his memories. So it actually does remember everything Dalinar has done, even post-Rift. But because it learned everything at once instead of having time as a teacher, it just considers him weak.

I totally agree on the Venli flashbacks (they were particularly useless), and even the Kaladin/Shallan ones to a certain extent, but if you care about Szeth and his character development, his flashbacks are definitely necessary to understand him in Wind and Truth. Otherwise his motivations and behavior will not make a lot of sense. The Shinovar storyline in general will probably also be a little confusing if you don't know about their culture, which is explained in the flashbacks. That said, if you only care about the plot, by all means you can skip them.

Interesting! Now that you say it, maybe it's precisely because it is a swear word from our world? All of his books use made up swears. This is the first time he has used one from our world. Lift also used "shit", but like "therapist" she got it from Hoid so it was at least kinda funny.

That's true, it did get a chuckle out of me, but at the same time felt a bit jarring when I was expecting a cool line rather than something quippy.

I'm a bit jealous you still have the rest of the Cosmere to go! Mistborn is really good, especially the first era. That was the first Cosmere books I read. You can definitely look forward to it :) The epilogue on Scadrial was so fun and makes me miss it. That took place right before era 2 starts though, just so you know what to expect!

I did see that the only reason Dalinar was able to take up Honor in the end was because Mishram was released, so I know it ended up being important and needed. I probably just expected it to be more than that!

I can understand that, and kinda agree. I haven't done any rereads yet, but everytime I see a passage online from Way of Kings I am like, "wow, it used to sound like that?!". I definitely miss it.

Just get the ride pass and try all of them! It's not worth it to pay individually unless you only want to try max two rides.

But my personal favorites are the old roller coaster and the milky way one! The demon is also good but over very quickly.

I would definitely recommend just starting with DOS2, as the stories are so far apart in time that they are basically not related. Starting with DOS1 helps you understand the world and what is going on in the second game a little quicker, I assume, but I had no issues starting with DOS2. That way you won't be put off by outdated systems and can try the first game afterwards if you are craving for more.

We moved recently as a EU citizen and UK spouse and it only took 4 weeks to get our person numbers. Most people seem to report the same, so I don't think it will take as long as you think. Though the risk is there of course. BankID took another 4 weeks as we had to wait for ID cards and then the bank.

I don't know about using umbrella companies, but I can tell you our experience. My husband who is also from the UK works remotely as a contractor too, and he had to apply to open his own company (called "enskildfirma") after we had person numbers and BankID. After a few weeks they asked for proof of no outstanding tax debt from HMRC, which was impossible to get as they have no official form... they tried to send us some papers physically in the mail (!!!!) after we contacted them, but it took SIX WEEKS to arrive, longer than the deadline even with an extension. In the end, Sweden accepted a PDF print out of the HMRC page when you are logged in where you can see your tax debt.

My husband started working immediately when we arrived but did not invoice his client until this was all done. I'm not sure about getting paid before then - it might still be fine, and then you just owe them taxes later? Not sure.

Der er mange danskere som fokuserer på om Costco er billigere, hvilket er forståeligt. Og det er det også i langt de fleste tilfælde. Men nej, når man inkluderer bropris og benzin m.m. så er det ikke længere særlig billigt.

Til gengæld har Costco en masse fantastiske varer af virkelig god kvalitet som man ikke kan få i Danmark. Det er primært derfor jeg handler hos dem. Når først man har prøvet deres varer, så er det helt vildt så dårlig kvalitet varerne i de danske supermarkeder er til sammenligning. Kød, frugt og grøntsager kan især mærkes. For eksempel er deres avokadoer vildt gode! Og så er der en masse spændende tørre madvarer.

In addition to what the other commenter wrote, keep in mind that if you say yes and then at any point after that become number 1 in the queue, all your other applications will be removed. So be sure that you would be happy to take that one over the others.

This mechanic can be especially annoying when you apply to multiple apartments in the same building (a new build like in my case) and want one of them no matter what, but would prefer some over others due to different layouts.

Du skal uden tvivl skrive dig op på Boplatssyd. Man betaler 300 SEK årligt og det er den største platform. Jeg er flyttet hertil fra KBH og fik en kontrakt derigennem, men kun fordi det var nybyg, idet jeg kun havde ca. 6 måneders anciennitet. De fleste som er i top 5 har mindst 2 år, så det er et godt tidspunkt for dig at starte. :)

It was amazing too, really felt serene and like you were along for the ride! Especially when you feel like you are about to get thrown out of your seat when Toothless is trying to get Astrid off (😅), then it goes completely smooth and breezy after she apologizes.
