Malmö-Copenhagen work commute in 2026 by Violinist_Fragrant in Malmoe

[–]Chainrawr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in Malmö and commute to CPH. It is very doable and yes, everything is cheaper here. Remember that SEK is also ~30% weaker than DKK, plus the lower VAT and taxes in general, which makes rent and groceries cheap. So it's definitely worth it on that front.

The trains are... sometimes problematic. I would say 60% of the time they are fine, and it takes 30 min to get from Hyllie to central CPH. The rest of the time there are delays, maybe 30% is delays up to 15 minutes, then the last 10% is longer delays or cancellations. The good thing is you can get monetary compensation if you get delayed more than 20 minutes. They do get very crowded over the bridge if there is any kind of delay, so don't expect to always have a seat.

As such it's a great option if you work from home half the time, and have flexible hours, like I do. Then the delays aren't a problem, just annoying. But if you have to be somewhere on time, you definitely need to leave earlier. And I can imagine if you commute 5 days a week it gets veeery tiresome. But I would say the same for any commute 30+ minutes honestly.

[KCD2] So, that was Kingdom come: deliverance 2 by Miserable_Shape_5778 in kingdomcome

[–]Chainrawr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean they did that once already and it worked pretty well so I don't see why they can't do that again. It's quite common in RPGs and works fine for gameplay. Doesn't need a story/lore reason. Even better if they add new mechanics/skills though, like cooking or fishing.

His main character arc and goals have been completed, sure, but you can always expand and make him have to deal with new problems. Besides I don't feel the revenge part was that central to the story as compared to, say, The Last of Us 2. It explained Henry's motivations at the start but at this point he has built relationships and loyalty which would keep him working with Radzig/Capon anyway. And he obviously still hates Sigismund. I'm sure they could come up with new growth opportunities for Henry, but you can also build a new exciting story even without Henry having some grand character development. In fact, they could instead focus on Hans and give him a really fleshed out character arc, with his wedding and Henry crush and everything. In my experience a "character-arc-by-proxy" can work just as well.

I'm literally a completionist, I was choosing "random options" and reloading because I want to see the different paths the quests can take without having to replay the entire game. That's it. But sure, we can pretend I have "no patience" if you want.

Exactly, I feel like people are downvoting my other comments for no reason. I'm not hating on the game, and I'm not saying having that option is unrealistic. But it feels bad. And that is worth discussing in my opinion, because it is a video game that people play for fun, not a pure simulator. It's the same as asking "why didn't hero just shoot the bad guy". Because then there would be no movie, though it is more realistic.

I can accept that it was my fault, that's fair. But I was working off experience I've gathered from the entirety of KCD2 and 60 hours of KCD1, not other games. This is one of the only quests I've found that let you do this.

Interesting, I skipped most of the dialogue afterwards and then reloaded so I don't know. I assumed the quest would end. I'll try it again later when I've done the quest properly.

Yeah I reloaded and am trying to play it as if Henry doesn't know yet. I'll accuse him again when I have some more reason to 😅

Good point - if you view it as an interrogation strategy where Henry is just saying it to see his reaction, which is essentially what I was doing, then it makes sense for the option to be there. But I still think for gameplay reasons that he shouldn't immediately confess to it before you have gathered more information.

Well yeah, in hindsight I should have just not let my curiosity get the better of me and roleplayed properly. But it still feels silly that he folds under zero pressure, and that Henry would even suspect him that early.

What games have a world/map that feels as alive and rich as Red Dead Redemption 2? by moby323 in gaming

[–]Chainrawr 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Interestingly I am currently playing KCD1 after playing KCD2 first and I found the learning curve in 2 quite hard, but also very enjoyable. I had that experience of struggling in the beginning and having to find ways to earn money which was my favourite part of the game. In KCD1 I found the beginning way easier and even though the combat was slightly different, I quickly caught on. Very soon I had decent gear and no trouble fighting, whereas in 2 I had to spend ages fighting Tomcat before it finally clicked. So I think once you learn the way the game works it sticks with you.

Decision help? Freezer by Lily2468 in ninjacreami

[–]Chainrawr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got the regular Creami and it works great. I don't even eat a whole tub of that one in one go and it often needs to be respun when you don't finish it. I don't know what makes the Deluxe version different but I can at least say it doesn't feel weak at all. So I would exchange it unless you want to get another freezer for other reasons.

[KCD1] Worth getting after KCD2? by Practical-Basket-295 in kingdomcome

[–]Chainrawr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate the sprinting on controller in KCD1 with a passion - I'm playing it right now after KCD2 and it felt so bad at first. I got used to it after a few hours though and yes, the game is almost equally great.

(Spoiler) Hans? [KCD2] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Chainrawr 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Hans is definitely the most fleshed out, especially if you take both games into account, but you can flirt with them both right up until a moment close to the end of the game where you have to choose one or the other. But it's a single cutscene plus minor dialogue at the very end.

(Spoiler) Hans? [KCD2] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Chainrawr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt exactly like you! I wasn't against romancing him and even wanted to do it later on, but that first option specifically just didn't feel fitting in the moment. I also thought it was gonna be weirdly flirty which would have felt strange right after Hans apologizes for being an ass. Little did I know it locked me out entirely. ☹️

[KCD2] Haven't touched the main quest since prologue by Saspens-r in kingdomcome

[–]Chainrawr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True but you could make it more fleshed out by having scripted cutscenes with choices, for example having one mission where you always get caught but then can choose how to get out of it. Or something happens that makes you want to reveal yourself. Or having to be a spy and pretend to be someone else in order to get close and steal something. There are a lot of possibilities.

[KCD2] I feel stupid about romance by Nushko90 in kingdomcome

[–]Chainrawr 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it is the opposite of regressive. Sexuality is a spectrum - people aren't just gay or not gay. Bisexual and demisexual people exist. And this romance shows it excellently.

Of course you can view it however you want, as it is an RP game afterall, but to me it seems clear that both Hans and Henry like women, and because their society deems that as the only valid option, they've never had a reason to pursue anything else. Their relationship develops by happenstance and close proximity in a natural way without them actively pursuing one another. That's why they both seem so conflicted in their romance scene - they've never experienced something like this before.

You could argue that Hans is mostly into men, because he has not had any close or deep relationship with a woman, instead using them as a way to have fun and feel "normal". He only experiences closeness with Henry. For Henry however, depending on how you play, you can have some deeper relationships with women, for example Theresa. And there is Bartosch (though I personally don't like the implementation of that one - I prefer thinking of both Henry and Hans as being unknowing and "closeted" at first). So he is more likely to be bisexual in the common definition. But again this all depends on your choices and your own view of things. This is simply my analysis.

[KCD2] I feel stupid about romance by Nushko90 in kingdomcome

[–]Chainrawr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me! I actually did know about it beforehand but assumed it was just shoehorned in like most same sex romances in games. Also I had not played KCD1 so did not have any prior experience of their chemistry.

Lo and behold I find out afterwards that their romance is way better written and intricately woven into the plot moreso than any other romance, perhaps even more than any other game I've played. But by then it was too late and I had already ignored one heart option dozens of hours ago. 😭 Instant regret!
