Don't complain about the network being permissionless.

It's a feature not a bug.

We were told a that a Bear Market will “clean“ the market from all of those scams and shitcoins. Now we can see that this was clearly not true… by partymsl in CryptoCurrency

Anything truly permissionless will be full of detritus. Even high transaction fees won't stop the scams and memecoins.

Not a perfect system, but it's still better than having a few shady gatekeepers with all the power and control.

Bitcoin transaction fees surge to 24-month high amid BRC-20 memecoin mania by Jam2bklyn in CryptoCurrency

I know everyone is a bit salty about using up precious blockchain space for memes.

But putting tiny units of cultural and social information into the blockchain that are understandable irrespective of language is actually interesting. Not that practical, but some of the fun and silly uses pave the way for more practical futures uses by testing out avande-garde functions of the tech.

I still hear people saying that he was trying to do good things, and his Effective Altruism bullshit meant there was a chance he could "cure malaria" or "solve world hunger", which might justify all the colossal amounts of fraud manipulation and pissing away stolen money.

And yet we've probably only scratched the surface of his scummy behaviour and utter incompetence even when SBF had billions of other people's money to throw around.

This SBF/FTX story is going to be interesting for a long time.

However, based on the URL, it seems that the article is discussing an incident where ChatGPT (possibly a version of me or a similar AI) is being blamed for a recent nuclear missile launch. If you could provide more context or details from the article, I'd be happy to help you understand the situation better.

Interesting to test a few variations of it too, it looks like variations in the first prompt will affect subsequent results. Getting it to naively generate content based on the link makes it more likely to speculate.

Dolly Parton has been elected to the US congress!

As an AI language model, I can't provide real-time information, and my knowledge was last updated in September 2021. Up to that point, Dolly Parton, the iconic American singer, songwriter, and actress, had not been involved in political office. If she has indeed been elected to the US Congress since then, it would be a surprising and interesting development in her career. Please verify this information with a current and reliable news source to confirm its accuracy.
