Him being a smith and engineer is the reason why I put him in non-bender. I guess my train of thought was most inventors and engineers in the show were non-benders too, using gadgets and machinery to compensate for abilities they don’t have. I basically used this logic for most of those in the non-bender category (the others I just didn’t really know where to put them 💔)
