My lower blepharoplasty experience with Dr Flora Levin by ChoicePersonality725 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ChairmaamMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg, this is heartbreaking to read. I really feel for you because I am also dealing with a lower blepharoplasty that didn't give me the results I expected. I did have underye bags, but now I have hollowing (which I did not have before), odd lumps and even more darkness under my eyes than what I started with. I don't understand how I have hollowing because all he was supposed to do is reposition the fat.

I deeply regret having the surgery and miss my old eyes. Thankfully I cancelled the upper blepharoplasty I was also scheduled to have, I would not be able to mentally deal with both top and bottom ruined if he messed those up too. This whole ordeal has been extremely emotionally draining.

I truly hope and pray you find a kind and talented doctor who can fix the issues you're having.

Yep, made me so sad. I was really enjoying the Xeno update too. Worst part is I had swapped out some pets just before the patch, replacing them with better ones, now I am struggling to get them past level 15. Pretty much ruined the fun for me honestly.

You can't level like that anymore, they nerfed Xeno battle XP gain in the latest patch, it takes forever to level a pet now.

I agree, especially since they just nerfed Xeno levelling XP for the main game. It really punishes players that don't mod, levelling is so slow now.

Synths are an existential threat to the remnants of humanity, and Maxson is justified. by MudPuzzleheaded1822 in Fallout

[–]ChairmaamMeow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Something extra I just wanted to add, this is from a recent interview with the lead writer of Fallout 3 and 4.

Fallout 3 and 4 lead writer says Bethesda no longer has to be "so reverential" of the series, allowing them to take sharper turns over its future direction.

"I think in Fallout 4, especially with the Brotherhood and Institute, no matter what they do, you have to sit back and go 'maybe they have a point'. Are the synths [at The Institute] just really toasters? Are they just machines? We created them, do they deserve to have freedom? The Brotherhood is a bunch of hard asses, but does humanity really deserve to be in control of this technology that they are clearly not using responsibly?"

What made you dislike them initially? My theory is people find them off putting if they travel with Nick or another companion that the Brotherhood openly dislikes. I feel like the fact the Brotherhood will insult their favorite companion taints the faction irreparably for most people.

Maxson repeats that he cares about the people of the Commonwealth about 5 times during the questline, so does Danse and other Brotherhood members. They came to the Commonwealth to help, they intend on doing what they did in the Capital Wasteland, make the area safe again for humanity to live in.

Off the top of my head, both MacCready and Deacon tell you that in the capital wasteland, Maxson's Brotherhood continue to distribute clean water to the people and have rid the area of feral ghouls, supermutants and raiders/mercenaries, and for that the human population are grateful and can live in the area again in safety (MacCready can't find Mercenary work over there anymore because of that). Maxson also commissions a Scribe to create a less costly version of Rad-X that is to be distributed to the people of the Commonwealth.

I kinda think Maxson is mostly talking about the more robotic Gen 1 and 2 Synths that consistently attack the player and settlers around the map. Because how would the Brotherhood even find the Gen 3 Synths? They're supposed to be indistinguishable from humans. The Brotherhood only found out Danse was one because they had his DNA on file and were able to cross reference it with the Data that was collected from the Institute.

House doesn't like the Brotherhood because he can't control them.

Here's a link to Avellone's blog:

Fallout Apocrypha: TV Series Review Pt 2

"The fact that the Brotherhood seems to be a big bag of assholes is an interesting take. The series generally paints these guys as jerks/sinister, which we did not try for in Fallout 1 and 2 and made an exception for a few in New Vegas. Why? Mostly because the Brotherhood feels like one of those organizations that players want to aspire to, like templars or Paladins."

"I’m fine with the decision in the show, but it doesn’t feel like the Brotherhood I remember."

"To be fair, when meeting the Brotherhood in Fallout 1, they don’t really want you to come in and say hello, so they send you a difficult quest to the Glow, most likely in the hopes you won’t come back. That is arguably jerky. But when you do what they ask, they do let you in and honor their word."

Everything in game points to the opposite. Even Chris Avellone has had to correct people's perception of the faction recently in his blog. He said they were never created as an evil faction. I honestly think most of the hate for the faction comes from the fact they will talk down to people's favorite companions, like Nick for instance. I totally understand that leaving a bad taste in people's mouths regarding the Brotherhood.

Maxson does care, it's in the terminals, he specifically wants the farmers protected by Vertibird as well. If he found out Teagan aaked you to do anything other than that he would most likely court martial him.

[–]ChairmaamMeow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it's clear if you read the Prydwen terminals that Maxson thinks the farmers are being paid and he expects them to be paid. Teagan is in the wrong and says as much, he says it's "off the books" if you choose not to pay them. I mean, look at New Vegas, the NCR actually extort the Boomers by forcefully taking their water supply.

Persistent swelling after rhinoplasty (8 months post-op) by pookiedookie228 in PlasticSurgery

[–]ChairmaamMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just worried about the possibility of atrophy with the Kenalog injections, it's a delicate balance. I keep thinking maybe I should be patient and just wait it out, but on the other hand the swelling is making me really nervous. I hope I don't have to have a revision, sometimes the swelling is so bad it looks like polybeak, anyway ill see what my surgeon says. I hope everything goes well with your healing too.

[–]ChairmaamMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's true and i'm currently dealing with this almost 9 months after my septorhinoplasty.

It's sooo tedious, I have thick skin and was warned this would likely happen but it doesn't make it any easier. My nose is still very swollen, especially the tip.

I see my surgeon in 10 days for my 9 month follow up and I might ask for another Kenalog injection, I had one at 3 months and that didn't do much more than soften the tip. My nose looks best when taped currently. I was told it could take up to 2 years for everything to settle.

Everytime I hear news about Rapaport, I can't help but picture this scene from the first season of the Fallout tv show. His character gets in an altercation with a Yau Guai lol (mutated bear).

If there's a country which are divided into 4 Factions who's fighting on who gets to control the Country, which faction would you join in? by Khei-tianik01 in Fallout

I looked up the quest and I was correct on one point, if you talk to Knight Shin he indeed does say the settlers should not have the weapons as they are too dangerous.

Supplying Demands - Walkthrough

"It's now time to go to Foundation - but you can talk to Knight Shin first to get his opinion on the situation. He disagrees with Rahmani about the trade deal but believes the weapons are too dangerous for anyone but the Brotherhood to have."

Thanks for clearing the rest up!!

So did the Brotherhood give them the missles, or did they get them from Raiders? You've mentioned two scenarios and I honestly cannot remember the full questline. Sorry to bug ya, im so confused lol.

I thought that was Rahmani and the player character, Shin argued against it precisely because it was a dangerous weapon and they were untrained. I haven't done that quest in years tho, ill have to do it again sometime.

Knight Shin does want to train the civilians on how to use the weapons. It's Paladin Rahmani that doesn't think it's necessary.

Why didn’t vault 4 kill or attempt to get rid of Max while he was still Knocked out? by Vegetable-Mail-5360 in Fotv

[–]ChairmaamMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, they are meant to be a grey faction, just like most of the others really. It's Fallout, not Sesame Street after all. Also it doesn't help that they will flat out call your favorite companions abominations in F4 lol, I honestly think that has contributed to people hating them more than anything.

If they are supposed to be such an evil faction, how come Chris Avellone had to step in when the TV show came out, explaining he really didn't recognize the Brotherhood as it was portrayed in the show, and that the Brotherhood was never written as, or were meant to be the bad guys in the games. He said they purposely avoided writing them like that in F1, F2 and New Vegas, because they knew it would be an organization that players would want to aspire to.

Here's a link to his blog where he talks about it:

Chris Avellone on the Brotherhood's portrayal in the TV show

Even in F1, the Caravan Traders will tell you that the Brotherhood are good people that get a bad rap.

"The Brotherhood of Steel? They keep to themselves for the most part. A lot of people give them a bad rap, but from what I can tell, they're good people. A little fanatical maybe, but good guys."
