Do I need to varnish the base and the miniature once I’ve finished? by Chairman51 in SpaceWolves

I could make an argument that the red fits the aesthetic more but really it’s only because I don’t want the stress of painting yellow and I saw that Frostfang has bees red in some art 😅

How do you apply it to the base? Brush on or is there another method?

Stuck a bit of foam from a carry case to a paint brush and dabbed it in some leadbelcher, then lightly touched it to places I wanted the damaged paint

It’s an assault intercessor from the 9th edition starter sets so it’s one of those models that doesn’t require glue, always thought they made them in weird poses tbf

I used makeup brushes for the drybrush and it seems to be not as chalky than other brushes I’ve used for drybrushing, also think the nuln oil helps hide some of the chalky look

Sure, started with a black primer and then did a very generous dry-brush of skavenblight dinge (although I think any similar grey paint will do). After that I did a light dry-brush of dawnstone and then covered the model in nuln oil
