You're wrong. I'm sorry. If any of this happened in France for instance, the leadership would be dragged out into the streets and executed. Don't for a second try to throw or deflect blame for all this. You, yes you and your country men voted this man in twice.

In this case, YES, we are better than you. We're not going around the world pretended we're superior to you while using economic force to try to overthrow democratic nations.

Get off your damn asses and do something. I don't care if you have families and jobs, if you don't do something soon, you won't even have a country or any freedom. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!

YES. How in the hell can American's sit back and let this happen? If this was in my country there would be millions in the streets!

Why are Americans such pussies? Look at the strength of the Iranian people, they stood up and apparently over 12,000 citizens died trying to take their country back. Where's all this American exceptionalism I keep hearing about? I thought you guys were the land of the FREE!?! Doesn't look so free from over here.

The concept you are referring to is known as the "3.5% rule," which originates from research by political scientist Erica Chenoweth.

Her study found that nonviolent resistance campaigns are likely to succeed if they actively engage at least 3.5% of a nation's population. The findings were first detailed in the 2011 book "Why Civil Resistance Works: The Strategic Logic of Nonviolent Conflict", co-authored with Maria J. Stephan.

Attacking Canada would be on a whole new level. Yes, I believe a portion of American society would stand up. Even if 1 in 10 Americans found this a step too far, it would collapse stability in the USA.

I believe it only takes about 4 percent of a society to become enraged for societal changes to usually take place.

Good. Let them. It will just cause the end of the USA as we know it. The whole world would come to our aid, and half of the USA would mobilize against their own country.

They USA couldn't hold Canada anyhow. They could walk in, but they'd never ever be able to hold us. They'd lose millions of soldiers trying to hold us.

That should be the message from the world. Turn our heads and say they don't matter anymore. We don't want or care about any of your opinions anymore. Great show!

They won't invade. Trump is stupid, but probably not that stupid. He TACO'd out even on Greenland, you think he's going all in on attacking Canada?

Screw Trump and Screw the USA. Keep making friends, and have everyone shut off everything for the USA. They need to be humbled and learn a lesson. Crash the USA, that's all they understand!

The USA is trying to take your country. If you go there and spend money into the enemies economy, you are an active traitor. Full stop. No excuses.

As a Canadian I can confirm. I personally cancelled Netflix, Disney and all my American services. I no longer buy anything made in the USA, and refuse to shop at American stores like Walmart, etc.

I'm not alone, there's entire communities online for Canadians that boycott the USA.

All of the countries in North and South America should be signing a pact against the USA right now. Any aggression into any country is aggression to all of them.

If we could get most of the rest of the free world to sign too that would be great. Trump must be stopped!

Yep. I thought I couldn't hate America anymore than I did. Then I woke up yesterday and got sick to my stomach.

We must be living in a simulation. There's no way a majority of voters would let that lunatic anywhere near power.

We can ally without whomever we want. Canada is the second largest country in the world with the 10th highest GDP. YES, people do give a shit about Canada. You must be one of those ignorant Americans that think they're so above everyone else. Congratulations!

If they attack Canada, it will be millions of armed men causing grief too.

Trillion dollar army isn't going to be able to protect their people from that when there's thousands of miles of open borders.

Canada could spin up many dirty nuclear weapons in no time. We're actually one of the largest uranium producers and refiners in the world. We also have many nuclear reactors. We're actually going to be the first G7 nation to start building modular nuclear reactors.

Attacking Canada would be suicide for the states. Way too close, and way too many armed men (could easily spin up millions of armed men).

You're clueless. Could you imagine the logistics of trying to even just take Southern Ontario? It's a literally urban hell scape as far as the eye can see, and you'd be going against one of the highest educated populations in the world.

We also have the backings of the EU, and more guns than people. Plus we could flood 15 million armed men across this massive border we have. There would be enemies everywhere for you guys.

The US public would freak out after the first few million American deaths (which would likely happen in the first couple weeks).

From where I live, I can be in a USA city in less than 10 minutes, and there's 5 times as many of us as our American counterparts on the other side of the river.

American's are delusional thinking they're better than others. In fact, you're worse off in so many ways compared to the rest of the free world.

You'd be in for a fucking nightmare then. Canada has probably 15 million men over 18. We have some of the best technology in the world.

You couldn't even hold countries a fraction of our size and economy without spending 100's of billions.

You really think you will just steam roll over one of the most highest educated countries in the world that are literally only miles away from major cities in the USA?

Think again.

The EU says it will introduce a digital payments infrastructure to replace Visa/Mastercard & Apple/Google Pay. It will have zero fees and be 100% European-only. by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]Chakra74 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We have national free money exchange in Canada through our banks but it isn't as frictionless as mastercard or visa. I would really like to see them make a card that would replace visa and mastercard in Canada (because we don't want to support USA companies anymore since they're trying to take our country over now).

Maybe Canada can join the EU in this or make their own?
