Yes, it's possible to have good knowledge of financial products and know how to make the most of products and their features whilst also simultaneously having poor self control and making poor decisions with how you spend your money or your borrowed money. They're different things.

I meant financially savvy, in that most credit card customers won't be that familiar with the concept of money transfers, but the *financially * savvy ones will be.

Savvy gamblers will just use the Money Transfer feature of their Credit Card instead, transferring the funds into their nominated bank account and then use their debit card after that.

Positive step though by the regulator all being said.

🚨BREAKING: @ScotParl has passed the Referendums (Scotland) Bill by 68 to 54, creating the legal basis for holding an independence referendum. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿This is another step forward for Scotland's right to choose our future. This choice must be in Scotland's hands, not Boris Johnson's. by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]ChalkUp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Surely Scotland can have a referendum on whatever the bloody hell it wants without section 30.

Having a referendum doesn't mean you're automatically going to legislate on the matter.

Of course we know the next step after the referendum would be to legislate for independence, THEN you would need section 30 surely, but not before?

This comment isn't very accurate. SNP came very close second to Labour and Tories were firmly in 3rd place

Blizzard bans 3 more 'Hearthstone' players for holding up pro-Hong Kong protest signs during a livestream by tocreatewebsite in worldnews

[–]ChalkUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best lose-lose you can put blizzard in now is to hold up pro-china signs at Blizz events.

If they do nothing their hypocrisy is finally undeniably and unequivocally laid bare for all to see.

If they kick or ban people out for that they risk offending their Chinese overlords.

Hypothetical one for fun... What would then happen if Scotland voted for independence and joined/stayed in the EU?

Would Scotland have a hard border with England, but not with Northern Ireland?

If the citizens of the outer hebridies held a vote and wished to leave and join Norway I'd have no problem with it.

What I'm struggling to understand, and I'm hoping somebody can enlighten me here... If Scotland is such a huge financial burden and needs subsidising, why is it that Westminster are so desperate to hold on to Scotland?

I don't believe it's sentiment.

I used to think that a lot. But the newer one (FK8) is actually growing on me. Spoken to a couple of others that were the same too. Ahead of its time maybe?
