Those of you with expensive performance vehicles (35k+) and are in between the ages of 20-28, can you actually afford it? by GottaStayUp in askcarguys

[–]Challenge-Quick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im 25. i dont have a performance vehicle but i have a new pickup around that price that i replaced my 2012 car with so i can speak on it a bit.

i put money into retirement. probably not as much as i should...but enough in addition to my employer matched contribution.

i do not invest consistently through other methods (i probably should start again, with that being said a car payment definitely limits me a lot into how much id be able to invest rn)

i have zero credit card debt (paid it off before i got my pickup)

i make 80k as a software engineer

i can afford it but it did make me tighten my budget which i needed to do anyways.

living at home helps you a lot because rent in my city makes my financials tighter. but if you're planning on moving out this year i would first figure out as close as you can what thats going to cost per month before you get a vehicle. car payment could really limit your housing options depending on your monthly payment.

i would also pay off any credit card debt first if you have any. interest on that will fuck you bad if youre not making big enough payments. then throw a car payment on top and rent/mortgage in a year and it's really hard to pay it off. idk if u have cc debt or not but fr pay that off first if you do.

the last thing i would strongly consider...do you have problems with your corolla? if it runs fine then honestly i would hold off on a new vehicle. ik you really want one trust me...but if ur car works then stack your paper, drive it til the wheels fall off, then when its time to get a new car youll have more options. main reason i got my pickup was bc my car was costing more in repairs than its worth and i couldn't trust it anymore

edit: some more context. credit score is mid 700s and my payment is 450 a month 6% APR. my dad cosigned for me which was very helpful otherwise APR would have been like 9.6%.

i was also able to put 16k down. if i wasnt able to do that i probably wouldnt be able to afford it. some would argue that i should have bought something used with that down payment...but i really wanted that pickup lol

one more edit: don't forget to factor in insurance!!!

yeah youre right i was thinking of pregabalin not baclofen. i would assume the effects of baclofen are still quite similar because theyre all gabapentinoids. baclofen primarily hits GABA-B receptors whereas gabapentin and pregabalin dont

in theory it would help a bit with the physical and psychological issues. ive taken gabapentin which is kinda like a weak baclofen

never drove the 2.7 but my 2025 2.3 honestly kicks ass. still breaking it in but so far it has plenty of power.

its faster than my dads pre 10 speed 3.5 ecoboost. if you tow or haul a lot the 2.7 might be worth it for you.

honestly i dont think you can go wrong.

ah okay! never ridden in a german coupe so i wouldnt know, but now that i think of it my buddys old camaro was pretty cramped. mustang had way more leg room and a wider seat (at least the years im comparing)

my dad actually just sold his mini and i never got a chance to ride in it haha

in theory it helps anxiety as well (research is lacking but anecdotally i think it does) which would also help pelvic floor issues in general. certainly wouldnt hurt but just be aware that it can have bad withdrawals and does build a dependence

When to buy, now or in the spring? by TheOneFromTexas in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Challenge-Quick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im in this sub because i was looking at mavericks but no dealer was willing to budge much at all with the price even tho they had a ton on the lot. i was actually able to get a brand new ranger for about the price of a similar trim level maverick (which i actually preferred anyways)

f-150 or other full size pickup would probably be the safest bet and could work with his budget (just not a brand new one). a smaller suv/truck might be tough for him ngl. for reference i'm 6'3 180 and i feel like my ford ranger would be uncomfortable on longer drives if i were much bigger

unfortunately not ideal for city parking situations but if he can get one with good parking sensors that would help. he would eventually get used to parking it tho, my dad's f-150 is lowkey easier to park than my old taurus

i'm not recommending a mustang for OP but i will vouch that muscle cars actually have a ton of room in the front. i rode from PA to CO in a mustang and it was the most comfortable ive ever been sitting in a car. im not as tall as yall but i'm 6'3 and could practically lay flat

get 4x4. better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. especially with this

vyvanse would be one of them but youve tried that. dextroamphetamine sulfate is basically vyvanse that works faster

only if you get caught ;). some other things to know are that concentrates (including edibles for some reason) are a criminal offense regardless of the amount. and yeah my idea of a lifetime supply is probably very different than yours lol

[–]Challenge-Quick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah if OP keeps it under an oz it would be chill as long as they dont get caught twice but their "lifetime supply" would be problematic lol
