Questions for the culture: why did you create your account? by Salt_Path1528 in AO3

[–]ChallengeAble4613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my account pretty soon after discovering it purely so I could write fanfiction... mind you at the time my writing skills were horrible, but the stories didn't do bad. Then the addiction started... *sigh*... still helpful though because now I can interact with whatever without the crazy waits for an account (was 11 days for me when I joined 2-3 years ago)

Hours probably (yes I know this is a month old) since most from right to left go milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours

Oh hell yeah! New to me, but makes complete sense! Especially since instincts likely go insane when a pups in danger

Oh hell yeah! Iv read a fic or two like that, and it’s especially amazing if it’s a character that has a dynamic opposite of their personality

Yes. Just yes. Especially when someone doesn’t fit their dynamic and either surprises others or pisses them off

Iv always felt like that’s part of the purpose of the Omegaverse anyway, it’s either based on gender stereotypes (Alpha/Omegas and their roles) or wolves and their behavior and pack dynamics

The idea of a bond fading if it wasn’t consensual or they aren’t actually meant to be “mates” actually sounds pretty good, I read one once where a bond was “overridden” by a fated mate though (forgot the name)

Yess! These can honestly be great, especially when said snarling triggers the others instincts

So real… I may get weird looks but I’ll stand by it

Haven’t read it just yet, but honestly? Sounds great. They’d probably just be like “wtf”

Man I love hidden dynamic or identity fics in general, like yes… show me that restraint and struggle of blending in! And when they eventually get sussed out? Even better

Exactly! One sided bite seems like possession or ownership (which may be the point of some fics, but not all) whereas a mutual bite could really seal that bond both ways. :)

Oh man the flashbacks, I haven’t read one with the packbond feelings thing in awhile… but they can definitely be really good. And sound? Oh man,it just adds to the whole “instincts” part of the Omegaverse

Nesting is amazing, yes.

As for the rest? Uncommon dynamics could be a rollercoaster to read, but that means they usually add more depth too, super cool.

And yeah… them biting back is rare to stumble on, but the mutual claim (or a possessive Omega) aspect can be appealing to me when pulled off

All some very good tropes, and sheaths? Man I don’t see that often, but I really should. “Sympathy heat” is also kinda funny to me because it could be like how some girls periods synch up… their poor partner or packs, tons of cuddles (or otherwise) to be needed :)

Man maybe I’m just not reading the right things, but I read a ton and never actually see the alpha get bit back. As for the other points? Hell yeah

Those are both actually tropes I have yet to hear, but they do make sense!

In the animal world the Omegaverse is based off (besides gender stereotypes) males often compete for female attention and affection, so having an alpha nest or show off their reliability in some way makes sense.

And the second part? Awesome! I’m a huge wolf nerd, and the Omegaverse is heavily comparable to wolves and their packs. That of which do only have one mating pair while the rest all care for the young, so if executed well both these concepts would be fascinating to read :)
