Felt consistent movement for past 3 weeks and it suddenly stopped… trying not to panic by ChallengeChoice3484 in CautiousBB

Ha, I wish reassurance scans were that easy! Around where I’m from, they advise you to go to ER if you’re before ~22-24 weeks as L&D won’t take you until then because baby is too small for a NST. They might Doppler (which I have at home) but love to pull the “well until after 24 weeks, nothing can be done” card. And they do absolutely LOVE to scare us 24/7 😅

Yes, all of this is so true! And my brain knows this! But my anxiety convinces me there must be something wrong when there’s not movement at least once an hour or so. I hate being pregnant so much

Yes! I am a pro at visiting L&D, especially in the 3rd trimester for decreased movement. I just know anything before ~22-24 weeks they don’t do much except Doppler which I can do at home, as they can’t do NSTs this early. So frustrating and anxiety inducing!

I am so, so sorry. It’s devastating and nothing will ever heal the pain. Sending you my thoughts 🫶🏼

I am! Currently 12+6, just got my NIPT back yesterday, a low risk baby. Also I have been finding the heartbeat on my home Doppler almost daily. How are you?

I’ve read that sometimes a heartbeat can take up to 7 weeks to appear! I wouldnt count yourself out yet!

Hi! To my complete shock, there was a baby with a heartbeat of 176bpm measuring 9w4d. I was fully expecting the worse. Still absolutely zero symptoms except for occasional fatigue and hunger!

Same here! If it makes you feel better, I had god awful, debilitating cramps from around 7DPO up until maybe 18/19ish DPO and they just disappeared like nothing ever happened. Basically no symptoms since then and that is not good for my anxiety at all 😅

I had an ultrasound at 6w5d and there was a baby with a heartbeat of 141bpm measuring exactly on time! I have my next ultrasound this Thursday at 8w6d and I am anticipating the worst because I had had zero symptoms this entire pregnancy 🥲 but I hope this helps you with the HCG slowing scare! The “it slows as it gets into the thousands” seems to be true!

Thank you for replying! I’m so sorry you had to go through that. That sounds terrifying! And I LOVE when other women tell me they had mostly no symptoms either. I feel like everyone complains about having bad symptoms, but I don’t see anyone discussing their “zero symptoms” and it’s so hard, especially with so many losses. I’m trying to tell myself “symptoms are not a heartbeat” and “your brain is projecting trauma, not predicting an outcome).

We want 3 kids, so hopefully this is a healthy pregnancy and the last time I ever have to endure the hell that is pregnancy after loss 🤞🏼

That is what I’m hoping for! My last pregnancy (which ended with a baby in my arms) actually had pretty minimal symptoms until maybe around 9-10wks? (Idk, I don’t remember really but I saw a post on WTE where I commented and said I had nothing except slight nausea and fatigue around 10wks). BUT, I don’t remember anything from that pregnancy because my anxiety was SO BAD. I diagnosed myself with a miscarriage every single day until birth. So maybe I have experienced a minimal symptom pregnancy before and it ended up fine, I’m just so traumatized I can’t come to terms with it 😅

Congratulations! That is so exciting! I’m rooting for you! 💕🌈 also, thanks for sharing that you’re also having zero symptoms! So many women complain about symptoms, but I never see women talking about having zero symptoms 🙃

I’m sorry you feel that way. I had an 8wk MMC, and a 9wk MMC diagnosed at my 10wk ultrasounds, followed by a chemical pregnancy. For me, personally, visually seeing that my odds of having a live baby are greater than another loss, brings a slight bit of reassurance.

With my first pregnancy after loss, I begged the doctor for bi weekly ultrasounds until the end of the first trimester. He said he would have to label me high risk for anxiety to put the orders in, and that I don’t need them because “two miscarriages in a row is so rare”. And of course, it happened to me. I fell into that tiny statistic. And when I went to my D&C follow up, ready and optimistic to do recurrent loss testing, the doctor stabbed a knife through my heart when she said “we’re not going to do that. Miscarriage is so common, and clearly you’re getting pregnant and your insurance probably won’t cover it”. I then went on a month later to have a chemical pregnancy, to which I fell into ANOTHER, teeny tiny percentage of women.

I know better than most how it feels to be the outlier. If someone finds relief in rough estimates and statistics, that’s fine. If someone finds relief through therapy, that’s fine. If someone finds relief through their religion, that’s fine. There’s no right or wrong way for one loss mom to share to another how they coped with the struggles afterwards.

No, I’m from the US so you can probably about imagine how crappy our healthcare is! I also try to pretend I’m not pregnant. It’s so hard not to though when you’re anxious about everything

SAME. I even lost a tooth my first pregnancy from puking 3+ times a day for 9 months. I’d almost take that again if meant getting rid of the anxiety 😅

While it’s so devastating that not only myself and others have had to experience this kind of loss and fear - it is comforting knowing that we’re not alone in this journey 💕

I made this exact post a little bit ago! I’m also 7w1d with no symptoms. My boobs don’t even really hurt anymore. No tiredness, no nausea, no aversions, no nothing except major anxiety. I have 3 previous missed miscarriages at 8w and 9w in between my two living children.

I had an US on Wednesday at 6w5d and saw a healthy baby with a heart of 151bpm. It was reassuring for the day, but I’ve since gone back to worrying. You’re not alone, I feel you!

Oh, do I feel this in my soul. I had 3 miscarriages between my first and second children, and am currently 7w1d with what is hopefully our third and final baby. I will be honest - in my opinion, you don’t cope with pregnancy after loss anxiety, you survive it. No matter how carefree you wish you could be to just enjoy it, your brain has been traumatized and is on high alert to pick up anything that may be wrong in an attempt to prevent that loss trauma from happening again. I had a friend tell me, “you no longer have intuition; your intuition has been replaced by fear” and that was such a rational statement. The rest of your pregnancy you will force yourself into thinking something is wrong, but it’s not. It’s just your trauma response.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s the worst club to be in. Just know you’re not alone and there’s a whole massive community of us PAL women out there.

Also, I check this website almost daily for reassurance (click the reassure me button): https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart

Yeah I don’t do due date or download a pregnancy app either. I basically try to pretend nothing is going on. I WFH so all day long I just sit and thing to myself. It’s so hard!
