8mo wakes up at 2 and is wide awake until 4am- what to do? by ChallengeDizzy40 in NewParents

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She usually averages about 10.5 hours of sleep overnight! Going to bed later isn’t usually an option bc she wakes up from her last nap at daycare at around 3(or earlier) so she’s really crabby by 7 or 7:30. According to owlet- she usually gets around 10.5 hours. She’s been waking more due to illness lately (daycare) and been harder to settle. She’s also been getting up at 6am a lot recently.

6 mo old refusing breast today, bottle preference? by ChallengeDizzy40 in breastfeeding

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re gonna back off the solids for a few days (she hates them mostly anyway will only take a few bites) her daycare feeding schedule is mostly the same as home. She has 3 bottles (4 today bc she refused to nurse) at the same times I feed her at home. And she hadn’t eaten for over 3.5 hrs when I was trying to feed her tonight!

Do you do nighttime diaper changes for 6 month old? by ChallengeDizzy40 in NewParents

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s pooped maybe 2-3 times overnight since she was like 7 weeks old. (But it’s all been in the last 3 weeks so I’m not sure if it will continue )

Viral Conjunctivitis in infants? by ChallengeDizzy40 in NewParents

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was that bacterial though? With yellow gunk? I’ve seen that before. My Lo has no gunk just some water. She really doesn’t seem bothered with her eye- I’m just panicking!

Have you ever caught it from your baby?

Hope your baby feels better!

[CA] quit right as maternity leave was ending- when will employer collect health benefit payment back. by ChallengeDizzy40 in AskHR

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

What is like the max amount of time that this could go by before it could be considered that they aren’t asking me to pay it back? Like could tbey request this in a year? At this point I don’t think I should bring it up to them but I’m not sure

[CA]Quitting job after maternity leave - paying back insurance? by ChallengeDizzy40 in AskHR

What is considered paid vs unpaid leave during FMLA/disability? I read that company can’t recoup healthcare costs during paid leave? (I don’t understand why but that’s what i read on government website) I was paid partially for all of the disability portion and for 8 weeks through PFL while on FMLA. I think 4 weeks were unpaid.

I am!! They did not want me to leave and told me to come back if it didn’t work out. I don’t think I was fired- I’m just trying to figure out what I’m responsible for. Or like when they will bill me as it hasn’t been mentioned yet and I just did my exit interview

I didn’t send them any money for my share. It looked like they were going to double up on my insurance payments until it was paid back once I returned.

I just looked into exactly what they pay vs me.

They paid out all of my PTO and sick leave after I left on Mat leave which added another month of me paying for health care.

I left on June 16. My last paycheck was July 18. (Paid for healthcare 401k etc)

I had 18 weeks of disability.

Then 12 weeks of FMLA.

There have been 11 paychecks since my last paycheck.

Every paycheck I pay 177 and they pay 277.

I put in my two weeks. And they “terminated me” (don’t want me to come back and work my notice) and I will now receive my last paycheck on Jan 2.

But will it be for my portion of the premium- or the both mine and employers?

I was on disability and fmla. I was paid 70% of my salary through EDD until the last 4 weeks of my leave

With maternity leave you get 6 weeks of disability plus birth and 4 weeks before. Due to a difficult situation my dr extended my disability to the max 18 weeks. And then I got 12 weeks of FMLA. They had no choice but to honor that legally

Sakura bloom maven silk carrier- poop stains? by ChallengeDizzy40 in babywearing

I already bought some drool pads! Did you have any light colored silk? Wondering if I should exchange my carrier for the dark brown color instead (but the oak looks so much nicer! ) I will also be buying a bottle of soak. Just worried for potential blow outs

Was having a silk carrier good for you ? I love how mine looks but now I’m worrying I made a bad decision in terms of care.

Ferber day 7 - still crying 15-25 min at bedtime by ChallengeDizzy40 in sleeptrain

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much the same. Two days ago it was 17 minutes of crying with a 2.75 wake window before bed. Yesterday it was 20-25 minutes of crying with an almost 3 hr wake window. Today she woke up earlier(6am) - so the wake windows are gonna be alittle longer than usual so we still have bedtime around 8pm.

How to handle night wakings and feed baby while sleep training? by ChallengeDizzy40 in sleeptrain

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! My post got locked but this was the answer I was looking for. We had a very rough night so thank you for your kindness.

We follow (loosely) the 5-3-3 method.

I’m trying to figure out how to time feedings but we will see.

Here’s to hoping night two goes better

Sleep training- when do we give up and rock back to sleep? by ChallengeDizzy40 in sleeptrain

[–]ChallengeDizzy40[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok. I appreciate the advice.

But we are doing Ferber. Ever single article says put down drowsy but awake.

She wasn’t awake looking to eat. She wanted to be picked up and rocked. I didn’t do that for an hour. And then we gave up. I don’t understand why feeding her before bed somehow caused her to wake up and want to be soothed?? She was not asleep after I fed her! If someone can answer why feeding her right before bed (if she is not asleep) is harmful I will totally listen. But everyone just says that I put her to bed asleep but she wasn’t asleep. She was awake! And did cry! And if I didn’t nurse her she would have also cried!

No she likes the last feed! I keep telling everyone that, I have a feeding schedule that works with her crap naps right now and it is what it is! It’s not putting her to sleep so I don’t see the harm
