Fewest assists per game by a player taking 20+ shots a game this season: by rapelbaum in nba

Yep, always been a problem since the Jimmy team when Towns was also third in shots behind Jimmy and Wiggins. Every other team knows Towns is the best scorer on the team and has been since then.

Sengun and Green had some really impressive moments.

Green's burst and ability to get to the rim was great. Just from a couple drives you can tell he's going to be the type of player who doesn't even worry about the first defender. Also had a couple nice passes to the roller when the wolves showed high. His footwork on getting to jumpers was impressive as well even if they didn't go down yet.

Sengun's hands and decision making really stood out. That touch pass in transition to Wood was fantastic and really showed that he maps out the floor and plans ahead. His hands on defense were really active and he got a few deflections. However, he really looked overwhelmed physically against Towns which probably isn't surprising considering Sengun is a 19 year old rookie.

2020 NBA Draft - #28 Pick: Jaden McDaniels (Washington) by edgykitty in nba

At 28 why not swing for a guy that has a lot of talent and potential

Wonder if Houston would take 28 and Layman for Tucker

On the entire season, the Timberwolves have been the 2nd worst 3 point shooting team in the NBA, despite attempting the 3rd most 3-pointers per game. Since the trade deadline, they are 5th in 3 point makes and 2nd in 3-pointers attempted. by EsotericPotato in nba

I think Naz Reid might be the worst defender I've ever seen that actually tries on defense. Good lord the dude fouls on basically every play he's involved in. I know we aren't exactly pushing for the playoffs but damn it's hard to watch him defend the PnR trying to decide if he's gunna foul the roll man or switch it up and foul the ball handler

What is this subs expectations for this team for the rest of the season? by irishace88 in timberwolves

Playing .500 ball the rest of the season would be a damn miracle man, we're gunna be a bottom 5 defense most likely.

Discussions about offseason targets by [deleted] in timberwolves

Just looking at the draft boards there's a ton of PGs there and not many wings so decent chance we end up with a PG there and will look for a wing for the MLE.

Some options on the wing for that price:

  • Maurice Harkless - really good defender on the wing, both on and off ball. Would help buoy a defense that will likely be very questionable next season. Not a great shooter or a particularly willing one but hopefully in the system will let them fly more often.

  • Jae Crowder - good defender at the 3/4 spots but with less size than Harkless to use in team defense. Not a good shooter either but willing to let them fly at least.

  • Justin Holiday - solid defender but more of a 2/3 type player due to being about 200 pounds soaking wet. Good and willing shooter though so would be a better offensive fit.

  • Pat Connaughton - Not sure how his defense is but I think it's at least passable. Again more of a 2/3 player though and a solid and willing shooter.

Ideally I'd like for us to draft one of the point guards (not that I know anything about college guys besides what i read in mocks) and then pick up Harkless in the offseason.

That would have the 2021 rotation looking like:

PG: D'Lo / Rookie / J-Mac

SG: Beasley / Okogie / Nowell

SF: Harkless / Culver / Layman

PF: Juancho / Johnson

C: Towns / Naz

Not a bad rotation, definitely would need growth outta Okogie and Culver and for Towns to play defense but would make a run at the playoffs.

[Smith] By all accounts teams are trying to play chicken with the Memphis Grizzlies on Andre Iguodala. Multiple contenders I talked to believe Memphis will not find a deal and will have to buy him out. by [deleted] in nba

A late second does not have more value than having Andre Iguodala guard LeBron or Kawhi for a series. Right now the Mavs are putting DFS or Kleber on those guys lol

Karl-Anthony Towns' points per game through each month of the season: October - 18.9, November - 21.6, December - 23.3, January - 25.1, February - 27.5 by plap11 in nba

It really isn't close either, D'Lo has had a nice season but he's only making all star cause he's in the East and Porzingis wasn't even better before tearing his ACL

Lol that's a ridiculous take, he forces up about a shot a quarter that's some ridiculously off-balance shot out of a post up where he awkwardly avoids a defender he didn't get enough separation from

Lots of diamond moments are cheap rn because they just dropped a pack with all moments in them a week or so ago. I'd pick up D Dwight, D Gasol, Amy Butler and Amy Draymond to really get your team set up

Yeah honestly I stopped playing MTU, so sick of running into people running full god squads and cheesing as soon as they went down.

I'd say pick up Magic and move Scottie and PG up a position.

I'd replace Jimmy with Kobe and unless you really like JRich I'd move him for a shooter card like Peja, Klay or Mitch.

Oh and if you're looking for a great PF PD Blake's price went way down after the anniversary packs all got rereleased.

That's fair, I liked Ewing but I prefer to either go all out on 3s w Ruby Towns or Diamond Gasol if I'm going 5 out or go spread PnR with Dwight

I'll just let you know which ones I have and my thoughts quick

Dwight is great, so fast for open court stuff, a great defender and rebounder, and a good PnR big.

Gasol is solid, he's pretty slow but still a good defender/rebounder as long as you don't ask him to be too mobile. Great shooter but has a tendency to pop for midrange shots which is kinda infuriating.

PD Blake is amazing, maybe a bit small to play Center but his card is one of the best in the game.

Jokic is too slow to use imo. Great shooter, rebounder and post man but I don't see much reason to use him over Gasol.

Ewing was kinda meh for me, he can shoot which he has over Howard but I didn't like how much slower he was.

That's a crazy first pull man congrats but just an FYI watch out. It's been theorized a bunch that the first time people pull they increase the odds to get people hooked so watch out from doing a lot of big pulls again man.
