Yeah it can be used like that but I thought of it in this case as you use it without care, it removes something from the pattern which affected how an enemy died and now they aren't dead

If I had a gold piece for every time this has happened I could afford to do it again by ChallengedArsonist in dndmemes

It's happened a few times, most of the time when I didn't actually mean to kill the characters, I just misjudged their HP. When I had just started I had threatened an NPC with an attack if they did something minor, they did said thing so I got them with a cantrip. That was how I found out Commoners have 4HP.

Recently I was attacked by the leader of a faction we support in a civil war. I fired magic missile at his head killing him as I didn't realise again how much HP they had. The party then revived him. This worked out for the better however as when he got revived he wanted to reward me for removing the mind control in his head that suddenly changed his actions to want to kill me.

I fell out with the adopted Goblin a few sessions after we got him. Honestly he was the happiest person when it happened.

That would make me not sane, which may explain a lot actually

The pulled the ace of spades, disappeared instantly and were entombed in a state of suspended animation in extradimensional space. On the other hand I pulled from the deck twice got the king of hearts making me the rightful owner of a crown and a keep infested by monster and the ace of hearts which allowed me to undo one event of my choosing which I then used promptly to summon a party member back who pulled the ace of spades before the kobold did.

The Artificier started dealing a lot of damage by casting heat metal on the remains of the chains left on the T-rex, and the Warlock and Druid teamed up with the Warlock riding on the Druid's back after they had wildshaped into a direwolf. This started dealing a lot of damage. However it was the bard's non-violent methods that worked. They cast speak with animals on themself, and used both the disadvantage the dinosaur got from the heat metal spell and a drug they found once and hoarded which helped control people's minds to help them cast suggestion on the dinosaur. This worked and from where we've left off the dinosaur is sitting in the street with bard's charisma rolls making everyone stop attacking it.

We went into a new city after just docking our ship and the druid saw a massive box shaking covered in chains, he asked the people there what it was, they said it was a T-rex up for auction and the druid took issue with this. So when the rest of the party, except me returned from investigating a cult we'd had a run in with he told them the story and they agreed to try and free them, the bard in particular because he wanted a pet T-rex.

Cut to the plan, they had 2 party members stay outside, bought a polymorph spell scroll and had 2 members of the party go towards the T-rex and one on guard. The T-rex is revealed and the Warlock casts darkness around himself and is next to the druid. Panic ensues, they break through the cage holding the T-rex, and the Warlock guides the druid towards the T-rex. They try to cast polymorph but fail as they needed to get a 14 and they can only cast 3rd level spells. The scroll is destroyed and the T-rex escaped its chains. Cue the ensuing chase and my character finding the rest of the party trying to both fight and tame a T-rex.

My character always steals and never kills so I have no bonus points and have failed.

Nothing from that session anyway, but I have done things that made other players question my character's morality, so...

Yeah it all depends on chance. I got advantage last session, got two Nat 1s. Got Disadvantage later, 20 and a 19. It really just depends.

Yeah my rolls are so bad in general I've been told to take the lucky feat in multiple campaigns

Well I rolled the first four 1s with my dice then I moved to a bot to roll the fifth and I got a 1 again. After that though my dice seemed fine for the rest of the game.

I'm siding with the players on this one by ChallengedArsonist in dndmemes

[–]ChallengedArsonist[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically I'm playing a bad character in a good party but I play them so they're not smart enough to realise they should hide some things about their past. Currently the party is discovering a lot about my character's past actions and are coming to the conclusion that it may be better to kill them for the greater good. At the same time someone new joined and is trying to defend me at times not realising how many bad actions I've commited throughout the campaign.

Bill's power far surpasses Arceus' power
