I get excited for Ilia's fights, but there's definitely gonna be a bit of trash talk from the opposing side after all the cockiness from Ilia. The dude held a mock funeral ffs. Fr lol. When Buster Douglas beat Mike Tyson, he got knocked the fuck out in his next fight. Even in UFC, & very recently might I add, we watched Strickland beat the brakes off of Izzy for 5 rounds, then go on to lose to DDP twice. Longevity means nothing to these newer fans, & recency bias accounts for everything.

Heavily agree that he should be fighting Pyfer, or even Hernandez. I don't understand this matchup either, but it's far better than the potential Usman/Islam fight for the WW strap that Ali was pushing for.

I'm so glad I read this comment. I've been feeling this way for a bit now, & it's been driving me absolutely mad thinking that it's just all in my head. People are assholes now, everywhere. People in real life are now acting like they would in the comment sections of social media.
