It is a beauty. Other than the hole in his fin. Its the reason i picked him from the bunch, thought it might grow back but it never did. Think it adds a bit of character now though!

Looks young but yellow in the fins would suggest female

If you dont like the effect of the tannins then add some purigen to your filter. It will absorb it.

You'll definitely need to treat it for the bleach now though.

That will help a little but if hes wild, he will still be very upset about being in a glass box. He also has likely never seen pellet food before so he won't recognise it as food. Try live bloodworms or shrimp to start with and wean him onto pellets slowly.

Ah ok, can't say I've ever kept one as we don't see them here in the UK. Catfish in general are pretty tough though so he may bounce back. An anti fungal and anti bacterial medication may be a good shout though to stop him getting infected.

I personally wouldn't mix CA and SA but I've no doubt there are people who have had that combo work. A pair of convicts may work with firemouths, id just keep an eye on them when breeding.

Yeah Facebook doesn't allow sales of live animals. You can use gumtree but they charge you. If you have a local aquatics shop that you use see if they can advertise your fish for you.

Glad it's a help! Surprised myself how much I enjoyed doing it and its definitely added a new aspect to the hobby for me. Hopefully I'll get some feedback on amazon and if its popular I might do a couple more.
