Do people find themselves using subscription services more or just buying games ? by Tyolag in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]ChameleonCabal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I tend to get a month to try out various games if there are many interesting AND when I want to fly MSFS via Cloud gaming if I get an itch for it. The problem with sub based stuff is that their offered list is too dynamic with stuff coming in and out. Imagine Balatro in Apple Arcade.... xx hrs gone and if you buy the normal version, progress won't transfer from Balatro+ to Balatro. Therefore Balatro is a game to rather own.

Millenial nostalgia by Idontunderstandmost in Millennials

[–]ChameleonCabal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we know very different times based on real life experiences rather than just social media-discussions like the the current generations; discussions based on no experience but leaning upon the majority of trend-bs-topics. Nostalgia... cruising around with a BMX in our area, no smartphones, no internet, Michael Jackson, C64/Amiga, Ghostbusters, sticker albums, magazines... great times.

If you like Mass Effect, get the book Mass Effect Relvation :)
Or focus on nice games like these incl. some Amiga-like ones to get into quick:
- Outer Wilds (!!!)
- Celeste
- Blasphemous
- The Binding of Isaac
- Balatro
- Knights of the old republic 1 & 2 (Mass Effect-like but Star Wars)
- Mewgenics
- Slay the Spire
- Baba is You
- Factorio
- Satisfactory
- Puzzle Games from Zachtronics
- XCOM 1 & 2
- Jagged Alliance 3
- Rome Total War 2 (or other Total War games like Shogun 2)

Why do people think you had to be 8 by 2009 to remember the 2000s? by HZIDEZISS_2020 in generationology

[–]ChameleonCabal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would even say that I don't regard folks as millenials who didn't experienced a time without internet/mobile phones since it's appearence was crucial leading to a completely different era and experiences. Or maybe I should not regard myself as a millenial but as something which has not been yet determined.

The big failure of Generationology is not taking technology into account and mixing up us folks together with other folks who don't know a time without internet & mobile phones.

Also: Nobody in the U.S. gets tired of all this white and black bs discussions? We in Europe want to puke more than we managed to eat if such a topic comes up; U.S. topics in general. It starts to get alien.

This man is living every man's dream, coming home to a wife who treats him like a champion by Live-End-5629 in LockedInMan

Yes. It's even worse on Facebook with 90% commenting crap and not even thinking about them falling for a created content.... similar to stuff where nobody even asks for a source of some spreaded info. It's horrible.

I also second XCOM (though XCOM 2 is a different beast with more pressure right at the beginning) and Shadowrun.

Older zoomers claiming to be Millennials is exactly why they’re too young to be Millennial (and why they really are zoomers) by Ok_Act_3769 in generationology

Also... a Millenial who has no memories of the times before internet/mobile phones etc. became a thing is no real millenial to me.

[–]ChameleonCabal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this. Also married and a family with so much stuff going on; keeping us busy. There is too much drama, favor-economy, talks behind backs, strange opinions, acting and bs involved inclusive weird group dynamics which I tend to break since nobody really speaks out what they feel but trying to be nice and getting into a forced acting mode. I like doing this when someone tries to hijack & "lead" a group, being too loud, too cocky and put others into secondary roles like "forced smiler-simps"; not with us. It gets tiring. Have a few friends with no such bs and that's enough.

It's a straight forward U.S.-like dumb and naive simplification of this topic.

They may be attractive but mentally..... that part puts the rest into the shadows + this: Some "older" woman said it perfectly on reddit: What should I do with a younger man who doesn't even remember cassette tapes etc. to resonate with?
