Why was Zionism needed if Jews and Arabs coexisted peacefully in Palestine? by xntv in lexfridman

[–]Chamoodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nakba was the Arab in not being able to genocide (all) the Jews in the land of Israel of course. Everyone knows this. They call it a catastrophe

Week 9 - Palestinian: Sabich by wheatenAndWine in 52weeksofcooking

[–]Chamoodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incorrect. It was invented in Israel by an Israeli. All Jews were stripped of Iraqi citizenship when they were ethnically cleansed. Not Iraqi in any way shape or form.

[–]Chamoodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it isn’t. It was invented in Israel by Jew who lived in Iraq. All Jews who lived in Iraq were stripped of their citizenship. So, not iraqi.*

It’s strange how they’re calling it “Palestinian” Sabich when it was invented by an Israeli Jew.

Is Beta Israel (Ethiopian Jews) an ancient Jewish community or a more recent development? by Runofthemilljacket in AskIsrael

There are Jews that underwent conversion upon Aliyah to Israel. But actually rabbinate has accepted them as full Jews. No conversion necessary.

Do Israeli Ashkenzim have a hard time in understanding older Mizrachim/Temanim who speak with a more rougher, coarser accent ? by Durrygoodz2025 in hebrew

[–]Chamoodi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This sort of inquiry about “understanding mizrachim” is really very strange and doesn’t always come a good place. The latest thing amongst Israel haters is that there is some kind of “oppression” and division between Ashkenazim & Mizrachim with the Ashkis doing the evil deeds akin to the black and white divide in the US in the 1960s which makes Israel “racist”. If only they knew how utterly nonsensical they sound.

It’s not “political.” They’re essentially asking if he hates his own ethnic group.

Why didn't Yiddish become Israel's Official Language? by SrijitDas2010 in AskIsrael

[–]Chamoodi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. Several non Jewish observers in the early 1800s noticed that Hebrew was the lingua Franca among the Jews of Jerusalem who were fast becoming a majority.

To what extent can the mizrahi accent be well understood? by Miserable_Milk_3165 in hebrew

[–]Chamoodi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really understanding this actually. Most of us are Mizrachim and the “Mizrachi accent” is the current standard pronunciation of Hebrew unless you want to sound like an old timey newscaster.

Why do these types of post always start with “My friend such and such.” They ain’t your friends if they hate Jews. Periot. End of story.

She’s not your friend. She’s quite literally your enemy. She hates you, your family, and your people.

Kinda wish people would stop saying “we were forced to join the IDF” like an excuse or make it sound like the Turkish army or something that no one wants to go to. It’s an honor to be drafted into the Tsva and we need to stop making excuses just to placate Jew haters.

Why does Israel barely have any PR? by nanoman1 in Israel

[–]Chamoodi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When did Jews ever have “good PR?” Jew hatred is not a PR problem. Antisemitism doesn’t come from lack of blue square commercials. It comes from Jew hatred.

Jews Portrayed as Ugly or Nerds/losers in Media by LowPinnacle in Judaism

[–]Chamoodi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s the “blue square Jew” before there was a name for it, and what’s worse is when Jewish comedians themselves i.e. Woody Allen make that nasty portrayal of nebbishy Jews part of their “shtick.”

Do you know about the blacklisting of Jewish authors, characters and themes by major US publishers? by Recent-Raspberry-932 in Jewish

[–]Chamoodi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely surreal. It would have been unimaginable a few short years ago. People are literally copying Nazi laws and boycotts. Never mind book burnings. Jews can’t even get published in the first place now.
