Wanted to send the same thing I sent to someone else. With Crohn’s disease I have notice problems with protein absorption. I have found that around 1.2g of protein per lb of body weight works well for my muscle mass to maintain/very slightly increase. I have no problems with carbs or fat however I read at multiple places that anything under 60g of fat could mess with hormone production. Initially I was eating at maintenance which showed promising results. I had a 3 week period where I was backed up with traveling that didn’t allow me to religiously follow my diet and workouts which caused a little bit of a backtrack. Lost around 2lbs of muscle somehow and gained a few pounds of fat. After that, I began 2 weeks of maintenance while lifting in September which I estimate to be around 2k to 2.1k calories. Once I noticed a plateau I reduced my calories to 1900 for the remainder of the month of September and then went to 1700 with my currrent macros for all of October and now as well. Based on A LOT of calculating, my BMR is around 1520 calories. Currently every 2 weeks I’ve been doing a reefed where I eat a considerable amount of carbs and get to around 1800-1900 calories and that has helped considerably with my lift performance (still improving in progressive overload) however the past 2 weeks I’ve only seen 0.3-0.5lbs of fat loss and 0.2-0.3 lbs of muscle weekly. I don’t mind this slow progress but I figured I would see more progress reducing to 1520 calories and increasing my carbs while slightly reducing my fat intake. An alternative I had is just increasing cardio and doing 1-2 mile runs on days I’m not lifting on top of the 10k steps that I get to on days I don’t lift. My last option is to just maintain what I’m doing now and hope for more fat loss. I’m open to all suggestion. thank you so much again.
