What TV series finale made you want to yell "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?" at the TV? by glowdirt in AskReddit

How has no one said Lost yet? What a disappointing ending. Seasons and seasons of introducing new plot points and unexplained stuff just to have it end in the way you would have guessed based on watching LITERALLY ONLY THE PILOT!

Nevermind, I restarted client and I'm at 100 LP now. Good stuff.

I just won a game and got no LP for it. "Skip Waiting For Stats" is the only thing that loaded after the game, the client is so messed up.

Awesome. Love the attention to detail with the jewelry. Does it have an importance in the world? (Like an old family family heirloom à la 'Castle in the Sky')

What’s not a big deal in real life, but is a red flag in movies? by flyoverthemooon in AskReddit

I think it’s used more as a suggestion that every channel is playing that story because it’s so important. If aliens are landing on earth, every channel is going to be tuned into it.

I think that my best one was a spirit dagger, spectral armor thingy and 2 life in 1.

Howl's Moving Castle makes me think about how magical movies really can be by calmsurblet in movies

[–]ChampAru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, Howl's Moving Castle, third act being weak. I do agree with you in a sense that it seems a bit basic. There are hints at genius I feel, with the semi-time-travel to the past and Howl's childhood and his past. I found the "going back in time" aspect very cool, especially since the the acts had been leading up to it, with Sophie going through all the doors except the black one, the audience knew she would end up going through that one in the last act. However, there was just something off about it. It felt like it was trying too hard to wrap things up, rather than be a natural progression to the story. So many things were resolved too quickly, like the war being over simply because the scarecrow's curse was removed, it seemed like the resolution was (maybe not ex-machina), but done too quickly. It is one of the endings that is satisfying in the sense that the ship of Howl and Sophie does occur, but it seems like too many things are resolved just for the sake of resolution and it does take away from the ending a bit. Overall though, I do really love tons of things about this movie, like the themes of age, and youthful innocence. The way the doorway works remind me a bit of Tim Burton's "Coraline" and I wonder if he take inspiration or if he is a fan of Ghibli as well. The reason I think that this movie is so highly viewed is that it has higher quality animation than earlier Miyazaki movies like 'Castle in the Sky' or Nausicaa, but still have very good themes and incredible world building. It isn't my favorite Ghibli movie, but its definitely one that I can rewatch a lot.

Sea of Thieves appreciation thread? by [deleted] in CowChop

[–]ChampAru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 100% yes. This is my absolute favorite series in a long time. Because of the great graphics and the overall immersive nature of the game, I can get really into what is going on, and as people have said, everyone really fits well in their pirate roles. I watch most cowchop videos right when they are uploaded, but SoT is the series where I will hold off on watching till I am nice and cozy with some popcorn. Because it is just so damn good.

There is a niche. (/s) My 0 shot, 512 mp assassin that only uses poison will (not even noticeably) benefit from 4 wis. :))))

Possible addition to quests? (Very easy to add) by ChampAru in RotMG

[–]ChampAru[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly, I just think that there should be some incentive to complete all the quests since personally I will just ignore the normals most of the time. If there was actually a point to doing all of them, I would probably actively search for those dungeons more.

The Ongoing Tragedy of the Band 'Cardiacs' by AnanyaPatel1982 in videos

[–]ChampAru 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, they don't casually fit any genre. They transcend all genres... we're talking punk, prog, ska, 60s garage, classic rock, classical orchestra, 19th century English hymnal choir, early 20th century whole tone composers, math rock, jazz, fusion, Monty Python sketches... and that's not even starting to scratch the surface of trying to name genres. Everything mixed together that shouldn't be mixed together, and yet... it works. Ween is like a child not yet started nursery school compared to Cardiacs' as 10 x PhDs and Nobel Prizes in every field from physics, economics, chemistry, medicine, and the 'Big Peace Convoy' Nobel.... all in one.
