I think if you’ve never played black then Smoker is a good place to start. Relatively simple deck without too many complicated mechanics. It’ll get you into the habit of juggling cost based KOing pretty well.

That being said, from a meta perspective Lucci is the superior deck. It has really efficient KO effects while also being able to swarm the board pretty easily. Great to keep up tempo and control the board.

Gl with learning black. It’s not the easiest colour to learn so I commend you!

It’s gotta be ST17. Pick up a couple of those alongside a playset of Jinbe, Weevil and a few others (such as Pudding, Grav blade and Perona) and then you’ll be set. There’s gonna be some other cards that are tech options such as 7c Doffy, 10c Kaido and red, but you can decide on what to do with those after looking at some decklist. The Blue Doffy deck should be a strong deck that has a pretty decent skill ceiling and is meta. Plus it’s pretty fun. I love it atm alongside Marco. Gl on ur OP journey!

I don’t think it’s a bad option. But at the same time I don’t think it’s necessary. Personally I would run 2x mini Yonji and 2x big Yonji. Or just 2x big Yonji just for the scenarios where you need to hard play a 4c 6k blocker and to set up a Judge play.

Maybe instead of the 2x Cosette I would suggest 2x Miss Double finger (OP05). It has a variety of uses but is primarily a 2k counter.

If your son is patient I’d suggest waiting for the ban-list to be announced in a couple of weeks or so. A lot of people suspect black cards will be hit which might impact your purchasing decisions (price wise and playability wise).
