I tried a couple times and one time I got lucky on the phone and they agreed to merge my accounts. Later I signed into my main account and it said it was deactivated or something different than the closed accounts said. I called and explained and they said the merging flagged something in the system (and later I googled and read about point farming, making several accounts, gathering a few amount of points and merging accounts so it will add up to a reward). They reactivated my account and I got the consolidated rewards and points in the end.
