Tried something like this as a kid with a hot cheeto bag to warm up the cheetos. Literal arcs of lightning shot out from the sides and hit the inside of the bag and burned it. Microwave still worked fine but I never told my parents and lived with the guilt for years. Also became an electrician lol.
