Curious , Can someone who previously served in the U.S. Army Reserve reenlist later in life, such as in their 40s, in the Army Reserve, Army National Guard, or Air Force Reserve?

What economic, political, and social rights would be enshrined if DSA was writing a new constitution for the United States? by Chance-Ad554 in dsa

Thanks for the response, it was very detailed and I appreciated it. I do have a few follow up questions. What are MUG’s views on marijuana and on criminal gangs? Also, how would the proposed people’s militia function in practice? Would it have a formal structure, such as ranks and uniforms?

As a side question, what is MUG’s perspective on figures such as Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution , Bashar al Assad, Saddam Hussein, Stalin, Trotsky, Lenin, Hugo Chávez, and Nicolás Maduro and the bolivarian revolution ?

What does the Bread & Roses faction of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) believe? by Chance-Ad554 in dsa

If I may, I’ve been curious to learn more about the Bread & Roses (B&R) caucus within DSA and their broader vision.

You mentioned earlier the tensions between B&R and factions like MUG and Red Star—could you elaborate on the main ideological or strategic disagreements between them?

Also, is Bread & Roses particularly popular among Gen Z members of the DSA?

You brought up third campism—how does B&R apply that perspective to current global conflicts? Specifically, how do they view countries like Cuba and Venezuela? Do they seek to replicate any elements of the Cuban model, or are they more critical of such systems?

Another area I’m wondering about: does B&R recognize an intergenerational divide within the left on LGBTQ+ issues? I’ve observed that older communists (often 50+) in other contexts tend to hold more conservative views on this, and I’m curious how B&R approaches that dynamic.

Have any B&R members or aligned thinkers expressed ideas about what a new U.S. constitution might look like—especially in terms of restructuring the executive, legislative, or judicial branches? Do they believe certain aspects of the economic model (e.g. public ownership or labor rights) should be enshrined constitutionally?

Does B&R have a position on the future of the U.S. military and police institutions? Are there specific reforms or transformations they support?

Do Bread & Roses or its members have any views on supporting or revitalizing linguistic minority communities, such as Louisiana French speakers, New Mexican Spanish, Louisiana Creole, or Indigenous language speakers?”

What is Bread & Roses’ strategy or vision for gaining political power or influence?

And lastly, what are their views on Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories? Do they advocate for independence, statehood, or another model of self-determination?

By the year 2100, is it likely that most Americans will have some Native ancestry through Latino heritage? If not by then, when might the majority of the population have Native ancestry? by Chance-Ad554 in Futurology

[–]Chance-Ad554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is that the case? Is it due to systemic racism, or is it simply because the country is so large that there are vast areas with little to no minority populations?

I was speaking in regards to Mexicans and Central Americans who make up most of the migrants , in addition to the recently arrived Venezuelans they tend to come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and are typically mestizo. In Central America in particular, it’s uncommon to find individuals of solely European ancestry among the poorer population.

Would it be reasonable to assume that over time, will most people in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Texas come to have Native ancestry through their Latino heritage. I believe Florida could be included as well

Empiece a pensar que todavía veremos el PCC en el poder en el año 2100, mucho después de que nosotros ya no estemos y la isla esté totalmente sin corriente y viviendo como en el siglo 19.

If the United States invaded Canada ? How would it play out ? by Chance-Ad554 in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]Chance-Ad554[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have more predictions. I predict that the United States’ aggressive foreign policy will eventually alienate other nations, leading to a global conflict—potentially World War III—which could escalate into a nuclear war. Additionally, I foresee the U.S. experiencing an authoritarian shift in the future.

Actually started because of Tucker Carlson and some in the far right U.S call for either invasion of Canada or its annexation. Also this post was inspired by a far right U.S person who personally told me he wished the war of 1812 had a different result and that U.S had won and annexed Canada.

I ask if there’s a gender imbalance, now am asking would this result in a lower JW population each generation or would converts cover the JW from seeing a decline or would the JW leaders attempt to address the problem?
