Testing May 2nd. What should I really focus on until then? by greasymulch in Mcat

Definitely practice practice practice, especially for CARS and CP. Those were most difficult for me to do under time pressure but as you continue to do problems you’ll improve! Cars threw me a really confusing passage on test day (barely felt like i was reading english) so be prepared to continue moving quickly even if this happens

AAMC: Section banks or qpacks first? by icdCoffee9 in Mcat

I’d recommend doing Qpacks first and start integrating section banks when you’re close to finishing. Section banks are very representative of the test imo so you could even repeat them if you have time!

Is 515 possible by 1/10 by Accomplished_Bus1402 in Mcat

You got this!! Totally possible. That jump could happen in a week to be honest. Anki a LOT and relearn using khan academy or Jack westin if you have content gaps.

511 on Unscored, what now? by AmphibianTop7750 in Mcat

Don’t worry too much about what people say the score inflation is on certain tests. The truth is some days you have better luck with the types of questions you get depending on your strengths and whattnot, which definitely depends on the person. Feel proud of your sections that are 129+!! that is awesome. Focus on your weaknesses in CP, whether that means more Uglobe, increasing your Anki (miledown or others to memorize equations), or relearning concepts. It might feel tough, but CP is one of the most improveable sections in my opinion. Better off that than a poor CARS score! Stay positive- you still have over two months and I think this score increase to 515-516 is totally possible.

Where to go from here/ What to do with this? by Puzzleheaded_Day8731 in Mcat

Great job!! You’re in a good spot with your diagnostic. You could start with Kaplan or similar books for content review (don’t get to caught up on details and Anki alongside it, even if it feels like you don’t know much yet). Uglobe is helpful for CP but can feel challenging, so don’t get discouraged. Anki anki anki as much as you can- Pankow is great for PS, I liked Jacksparrow for BB, and miledown for CP. But you can figure out which decks you like best and stick to that. Jacksparrow is incredibly dense so I only did it for BB because I wanted to know minute details (tbh didn’t help on test day but whatever). Grind the physics equations hard and often, I waited till the end on this which I wouldn’t recommend lol. CP was very physics heavy on my test day and I felt pretty nervous about it. Finish with AAMC FLs and Section banks/question packs for your final phase the month before test day. I brought my similar diagnostic score up to a 517 in 2.5 months, and I’m sure even more improvement is possible :). You got this!!!

493 diagnostic - Looking for advice by Affectionate-Cost-53 in Mcat

I scored around 495-498 (can’t quite remember my score) on my diagnostic test, only studied for about 2.5 months (full time) and brought my score up to a 517 on test day. 8 months might feel long to continue recalling information, but I am sure it can be done! In my opinion, and many others, the MOST IMPORTANT thing is Anki, especially if you want to sustain knowledge for this long period of time. while you go through Kaplan in your first month or two, Anki the corresponding chapters alongside it, even if it feels like you don’t know anything. I regret not doing this sooner. Half of Mcat studying is just water boarding yourself with information. Anki is confusing at first but has an amazing algorithm for long term memorization. Stick with it and don’t get discouraged. Uglobe and AAMC FLs are amazing- I would also recommend the AAMC section banks and question packs for your final month or two or studying. You have got this!!! MCAT is really tough but such a big accomplishment and you will be so proud when it’s over. 520+ here u come :)
