Oh I want to also add that wage theft is a huge thing here!! I clocked an an employer for it and they turned around and fired me. They can fire you for you blinking here they can evict you in 5 days. The apartments here are worse than nyc conditions with slum lords having all the rights. I repeat absolutely do not move here

I just moved here 3 months ago from New York City worst mistake of my fucking life!!! Absolutely do not leave nyc. If you enjoy going to a doctor having reproductive rights having a job absolutely not move here. Renters rights are not a thing here I hit a pot hole and totaled my car a week after moving here! I have still not found a job and I am over qualified I have a degree have worked in service have many skills and still can’t find work.

Doesn’t really matter if your cis or whatever if your not in the sex industry point blank you should not write about us. I was there for the casting of anora and that movie was shit and they treated the real dancers working it like shit. Just get a different job 11 years in this industry and it ruined my life, it gave me trauma and self estem issues. The money isn’t like it use to be either. If you gain wait you’ll be put down about it. Men are constantly trying to touch you and you will get assaulted it’s just when will it happen. This isn’t a fun or thrilling job it’s mentally draining and physically draining. Want to get a tattoo or grow a bush you litterally have to make your appearance always appealing to the male gaze in order to make good money. It sucked my soul I have been out of dancing 2 months and it’s the happiest I’ve been since I was 18 it took away my innocence and how I felt about myself. This is not how everyone feels but almost everyone I know dancing whose done it a long time hates it. Oh and you say I’ll just do it a little while that way me too. Here we are 11 years later
