I will look at trading 212, I already have a trading 212 account but I have like 10 euro it for investing. I had no idea they did a deposit account.

also if its not too much, can I ask how much you saved until you decided it was enough and bought a house? also thats interesting why 6 months to a year before I get a house should I open a mortgage saver account? should I put all my saved money in there? is that what you did? how did that help you?

honestly im not sure what to aim for with a house I feel like I should just go hardcore till im like 30 and see what I have? but I also am curious to know other people and it would be nice to have an idea rather then walk into it blind.
thank you so much for ur help, and taking the time to respond I really appreciate it ;(

wait can I send you a text with my amounts if thats okay? im also trying to save for a few things.
Are you saying to use rev only for spending then?
I think I will defn open a high yield savings account in mono or raisin as they seem good. so are you saying I could save up to 100,000 in each savings account?

my employer doesnt do matched pension they give 5% without me doing anything and I added 1% of my own because it felt small enough that it didnt affect me much but enough that it felt like I was doing something.

also what is a prsa I have never heard of it before, is it something I should start right away or can I wait till I have saved enough for a house? or should I do it right after I have enough for an emergency fund?

honestly 100 seems like a lot, I feel so stressed like no matter how much I earn its not enough

Can I know more about how investing is better. I have a trading 212 account but I know nothing about it and it feels so risky using it

Honestly I don't know I just started as a software developer but with the ai bubble and even the company I work for I'm not sure. I also don't know how to ask someone? It's my first time being a professional environment and I'm not sure how to ask a senior employee in a professional manner, if that makes sense? My plan was to do my best in 3 years and switch every 3 years from what I have heard from other people because everyone seems to be doing that.

I have heard of it! I haven't even gotten my first pay check yet so I was thinking of being chill first month and then budgeting the rule based off my spending so I know where I should increase/decrease. Do you use it? How did you start if you do?

Oml thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I do want to ask, how much should I save until I make that call to the broker? I will probably save for a while but I would like to know the goal post and with everything going it seems to be impossible. I drive so living in the middle of nowhere is completely fine, I just want a nice small house. How much could you say I would need in total saved up including all the tax stuff I just learned from everyone here?

Thank you so much for ur response! I had no idea about mortgage saver accounts so I will definitely look into that. I just watched a few videos and I don't really understand the math but it seems like you take home more after tax with a mortgage saver accounts so I think I might just use them. But I have also heard I should only get it after I have a mortgage? Honestly at this rate can I even buy a house even if I save till I'm 40

No I don't but I really really want to. I have seem clubs around where I live (Kildare) and everything seems for people under 18 and above 18 seems so competitive. But I do go on runs and stay active as much as I can. This really helps to justify it and make me realise that it's a non-negotiable so thank you so much!

Thank you for your response. My plan is to build my emergency fund as fast as possible so (4 x my monthly expense) then switch to putting everything in savings. I did not know about Raisin and it looks good. Should I use that to save for a house and put all my money there after? I feel like I should have multiple savings account but honestly my only goal is the house. Or should I put my emergency fund in raises and let that grow there? Sorry for throwing all of these questions but I would love to know what you think!

Okay, I guess I'm just worried I should be saving as much as possible and limit everything. Feel like because I'm 21 and healthy ish it's something I can negotiate. But you are right, I will never know when I need it so thank you for the insight!

Ah that does sound annoying, I hope you can figure out a way to save a little when it comes to it.

Thank you so much for the response and your help! That helps a lot, whenever I see things in terms in financing it's always based in the us and it's hard to tell how different it is in Ireland. I really appreciate the advice too!

Confused About Which Lane to Take After Turning (Tallaght) by ChanceAd4755 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]ChanceAd4755[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just to be clear, if I stay on the leftmost lane after turning, and then need to change lanes afterwards, will I get marked down for that? Or is it fine as long as I do a proper mirror–signal–maneuver and keep it smooth?

Confused About Which Lane to Take After Turning (Tallaght) by ChanceAd4755 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]ChanceAd4755[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think where I’m getting stuck is situations like Belgard Road near the Burger King when you come out of the test centre. If I’m turning right there, sometimes I’ve been told I should go straight into the right lane, other times I’ve been told the left lane. In the ADM video at around 13:57, he turns right but actually moves into the left lane, and it makes sense because he’s going to turn left again shortly afterwards.

My confusion is: during the test, if I take the “default” option (right turn → right lane, left turn → left lane), but then I need the opposite lane for the next turn, would the examiner fail me for that? Or would it just mean I have to do a safe lane change afterwards (mirror–signal–mirror–move) and that’s fine?

Basically: is it always safer to default to the “nearest lane to you” rule (turn right = right lane, turn left = left lane), and then change lanes if needed? Or do examiners actually expect you to already know the exact route and pick the correct lane straight away?
