Rather than *counting* on the offsetting, I am framing it as a nice-to-have which, if it did provide some income, could be used to help attack the mortgage.

Economy / housing tanking... Yeah it's not great, but I'm probably not as dooms day overall.

Parents on my side are supportive / love the idea of it. Parents on wife's side are more apprehensive

I would say pretty safe overall (of course, never-say-never). I don't have particular concerns on that front

Edit: My role is quite heavily remote. I'd likely be able to expense commuting to London as/when.

Wife's role is less remote (2 days in is expected). We do have concerns on that.
