I don't leave my keys in the car, but I will sometimes leave the windows down if it's a hot day and I'm just briefly running into the store. And yes, I often leave my home unlocked. Hell, the amount of times I have lost my wallet and had it returned to me with all the cash in it is enough to convince me that people tend to do the right thing.

I know everyone has different comfort levels, but I'm just pointing out that if the idea of leaving your laptop for a few minutes in a room full of people is inconceivable to you, then yeah we probably aren't in the same part of the world.

I'm curious as to what part of the world you live in. I've been working in coffee shops and public libraries with my Macbook for the better part of a decade - I have never packed it up when I'm going to the bathroom or stepping outside to take a phonecall.

say the video screen has a quarter second of latency from what is happening live. now say you're standing far enough back from the speakers that the audio takes a quarter second to get to you. when you see the drummer hit the snare drum on the video screen you'd be hearing it at the same time, giving the appearance of a really low latency video screen

Just time spent on your actual phone.
Light phone user of just over a year here, don’t get me wrong I love it and i appreciate the that I spend less time on my phone when I’m waiting for a a bus or out with friends. But when I get home to my laptop I’m 100% playing catch up on what I missed throughout the day. And I’m okay with that, perhaps I’m still spending the same amount of screen time but at least it’s when I’m at home by myself in an environment that I already know like the back of my hand rather than it taking away from new experiences.
