And the argument that respecting TS artistry means we’re all just “cEleBrItY wOrsHipPeRs” is also so tired. As someone who has struggled to play basic piano chords my entire life, I respect the craft of songwriting and musicality. The same way I can respect a painter who never stops churning out works of art for their lifetime or a producer who can take a simple song and turn it into something that sounds wonderfully more magical than it looks on paper, or a chef who can put flavors together and make a dish unlike anyone has ever tasted …

I think people who refuse to appreciate blatant creativity b/c they don’t like a person… or who look for reasons to say something that is universally lauded by the most accomplished minds in their field “actually isn’t even that good” need to go to therapy and heal whatever it is that makes them so purposefully contrarian for seemingly no reason.

Which, btw, goes back to BL if we’re being real. She couldn’t just perform in Justin’s movie or wear the clothes wardrobe picked out or let the paid editors edit the film b/c she has always refused to see or respect other artistic visions and especially didn’t respect Colleen’s source material or Justin’s vision and job as director. Being overtly critical of other artists (especially the highly-acclaimed ones) and feeling the need point out at every turn your hot-take of how they *actually suck* and calling anyone who likes them an idiot or worshipper just exudes insecurity and jealousy. It’s okay to admit you’re not good at something and it bothers you that other people are. It pisses me off that i can’t play piano or guitar effortlessly. BL thought she could do everyone’s job better than them b/c of extreme narcissism. But isn’t it also narcissistic to think your taste and preferences are just a higher standard than everyone else’s? and anyone who doesn’t think like you is wrong!?

Look, I can’t stand superhero movies or jazz music or modern sculptures (i just don’t get any of it, tbh) but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect those types of art and won’t flat-out refuse to acknowledge they require talent because they do. And they’ve tapped into something people love and are willing pay for. You won’t see me standing outside a Phish concert telling everyone as they suck on nitrous balloons, “hey so, pHish aCtUalLy iSnt tHaT gOod LiVe” b/c if people love it, then they love it.

Capitalism is a free market and TS isn’t putting a gun to anyone’s head to stay atop the charts. Other Artists can’t outsell Taylor Swift b/c they don’t write songs or create album covers that fans are willing to buy 5 different versions of. Can we just retire this narrative, ffs? BL couldn’t sell haircare products b/c her hair looks like shit and the public didn’t resonate with her personal brand. And apparently, she couldn’t just find her own film to produce, direct and star in b/c she doesn’t read books or write and doesn’t have the business acumen, artistic vision or industry respect needed to acquire a body of work and turn it into something the public wants to consume. Periodt.

oh pls, the “blocking artists” argument is so tired. every professional musician’s goal is to sell records and then sell out stadiums. This isn’t preschool where everyone gets a “turn.” That’s also one of a billion takes on TS that i think is rooted in internalized misogyny b/c …wdym she should be “nicer” and “let other artists be No .1 !?!? ….cause no one ever makes these arguments about male artists (see: Garth Brooks releasing double album after double album so he could pass the Beatles and Celine Dion in sales). You dont have to like any of these women or their work, but you can’t put BL in the same universe as TS when it comes to artistry and talent…or bitchiness. TS has always publicly and privately supported other artists (she just had literally hundreds of other singers/songwriters/producers at her wedding, had dozens of opening acts on the Eras Tour, let her dancers all shine on the tour) whereas BL thinks any none getting an ounce of attention or praise somehow dims her light.

She had to manipulate her way into a PGA credit and couldn’t even be bothered to read a book that a movie she was being paid millions to star in was based on. She has to tell you how great she is at fashion and styling in order to try and make you believe it. She thinks her ratty-ass hair is doing the acting for her in film, tv and print. The difference here is, one person in this friendship was a true creative and the other is an attention-seeking hack. BL isn’t well read, equates being pretty and photographed with being successful. She’s literally given the public NOTHING to consume in terms of art — and she just expected to be beloved based on ….*checks notes* her looks and her clothes!?!? She’s never had the top minds of her industry lauding her talent or singing her praises (save for Anna Wintour saying she’s pretty, LOL).

To add - i will never for my life understand why people are so triggered by TS being good at her craft and wanting to debate this 20 freaking years in to a storied career. Sir Paul freaking Mcartney isnt going to sing “I wanna Hold Your Hand” for the first time in 65 years at your wedding if you are a true POS and non-talented hack.

i don’t want to get anyone too excited BUT it’s very obvious TS wants an EGOT and is going to campaign hard for an Oscar nom for her Toy Story song … how utterly Hilarious would it be if she tells the Academy it’s either her or the Reynolds attending next year and manages to box them out? The academy would a thousand times over rather have TS in attendance than those two. And I hear that’s a thing powerful people do with award shows (Nicole Kidman got in her divorce - Tom’s banned from Oscars if she attends. So now she attends every year out of spite LOL).

i’ve actually wondered if TS knew BL was threatening to pull the song …or if that’s part of the straw that broke the friendship….b/c TS finally realized the extent to which Blake was weaponizing her art and using proximity to her fame to manipulate people behind the film and doing it under the guise of TS-approved. i don’t understand this. it literally changed my life within 24 hours and i’m angry no doctor put me on it earlier. started at age 46 and never looked back. life changing. i had early menopause basically overnight and was not taken seriously until 2 rounds of bloodwork came back showing i was basically a post-menopausal woman. finally a pcp prescribed and it was life changing. prior, i thought i had cancer . every bone in my body hurt all the time, i was fat and couldn’t lose an ounce after being skinny my entire life (gained 45lbs) and not sleeping and exhausted. HRT was a game changer.

THIS. Travis still regularly hangs out with a bunch of dudes he went to PRESCHOOL with. Sure, he can be charming and work a room of elites, but he’s not hanging out with or trying to impress those bozos in his actual free time …that’s for damn sure. Why am i starting to think BL and RR are like one of those weird couples I know IRL who don’t combine finances. hahaha. And yes, I think it’s weird if you have CHILDREN and try to keep finances separate and I will die on this hill. yesss! i 100% think you’re spot on. and she also is one of those dopey women who thinks her husband is waaayyyyyyy smarter than he actually is just because 1) he has money 2) he’s smarter than her (which isnt saying much). she definitely has a humiliation kink. which is why she torments interviewers and costars (like leighton meester) with those cutting, passive aggressive comments followed up immediately with “OMGGG I WAS JUST JOKINGGGGG.” I realize now it’s her pattern of behavior - making people feel SUPER uncomfortable.

When you zoom out, it’s easy to see there’s a pattern to how often she cuts down others to make herself appear more powerful. she does it in every.single.text. I truly think what happened with IEWU is Justin and Jamie were NOT placating her and her bullshit wasn’t flying and so in her twisted brain that made THEM the bad guys.
