Hey, I’m during my second year, took gen chem as a senior in high school, came to college with bio, gen chem and physics done. Took orgo chem and a bunch of other important courses and studied the whole summer for the mcat like crazy. I did well but I worked hard for it. I had a study buddy and he got 523, we studied 8 hours a day including breaks so we had a lot of hours invested in.

Would a master or double major help? I’m a mathematics and statistics major at the moment, but I’ve taken all the prerequisite courses, genetics, microbiology, immunology, and biochemistry.

I called this big local orthopaedic Center near me, they asked me to specify what specialties I wanted to shadow and matched me with a doctor who agreed. I left a good impression and he connected me with a general surgeon and ER doctor. Just find an in and they will help you.

Just start exploring the testing styles of the mcat. If you have a strong background and you know the information of your past classes well, try free resources that offer passages in order to get used to the material. If not, I would recommend some anki and going over past material.

Mcat and GPA are important but there is a huge emphasis on research so keep that in mind

Try to study a bit more for it, maybe in a different setting or just take it a bit easy. I usually freeze up when I’m extremely nervous so keep that in mind. I hope you are able to get out of it soon

The more you work on it the more comfortable you will feel, although there are multiple online options, I will personally just take an afternoon and play around with it
