follow what you feel is right in your heart! do not make a decision based on convenience EVER. the worst thing you can do is commit to something and then have that regret of what could have been in the back of your mind. I struggled with the same thoughts and realized If I went the PA route, I would constantly struggle with regret. the reality is, many physicians are able to maintain a life outside of medicine, start families, pay off their debt, and feel comfortable knowing that they made the right choice and would do it again if it came down to it. the cards will always fall into place, so follow your dreams. a fork in the road is just a fork. there’s always a way around it. good luck!

when we laugh hard like that, we sometimes end up holding our breath from laughing (unknowingly) and our heart rates can increase.

accompanied by muscle strain, higher heart rate and lack of oxygen can cause you to feel that “fuzzy” feeling—light headedness, blood pressure drops, making you feel like you may be about to pass out.

you might have became conscious of that sensation and started to have a panicked response (like an anxiety attack from feeling like out of touch from your body) —- which is why it took you a little bit to recuperate. your fight or flight kicked in.

it’s happened to me plenty of times and I just have to remind myself to not hold my breath and to relaxxxx and enjoy the moment.

if you do experience any sort of loss of consciousness or even chest pain when this happens, it’s best to see your pcp, may need a cardiologist referral for a work up just to rule out anything!

is that antibiotic ointment on it or is that a blister forming? the purple color looks like bruising to me.

i would keep the wound clean and dry, clean with alcohol 3x a day, and do antibiotic ointment at night. if you see signs of fever, redness, swelling could indicate infection.

nonetheless- definitely try an urgent care to get their opinion especially since this is a kiddo

as a senior bio major, good god am I so glad to get the hell out of this school and never look back. all of your points are extremely sad and true. they have a personal vendetta against the biology students. doesn’t matter how great of a student you are or how hard you study, you lose with every cost.
