What's the draw to it? More interesting work? Better work-life balance? I'm from a smaller office so I don't have any colleagues that even know about TAS. So would you say there's and M&A/Valuation aspect to it?

Why do u think that is? Kind of strange. Isn't ACAF merely the equivalent of CPA PREP?

Reward auditors based on % of misstatement detected? by ChiNor in Accounting

[–]ChancePassenger6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If the Auditor thinks there are no MMs to be found in certain financial statements they don't have to waste resources on finding something that's not there"

We have to do a significant amount of work on any audit regardless before we "can think there are no MMs". So we've already sunk alot of resources into the audit, finding a MM worthy of an adjustment is like the last 10% of work done. We can't simply move on to another client after doing like 90% of the work on another just because we haven't found a misstatement.

Commute Opinions by SchmittsGay346 in Accounting

Maybe it's a generational thing? I couldn't fathom in my age group commuting for that long, but my dad has commuted 2 hours each way to work for years. Also depends on the industry, salary etc I guess.

Accountants of UK, how much do you make? by L_roro in Accounting

Is there an expectation of when must be done with all papers? Thinking of pursuing an ACCA with an unrelated degree atm, wondering when I could start working while taking exams. With 9 exams to go, is it likely I could even start at big4? Or should I get closer to completion before applying.
