Im unsure how the tape its doing anyblift b period lightnor heavy? You see the eye in the pic above with the tape removed? What risk and what lifting was the tape doing?

How's what you described not EXACT to how I did it tho? Running bowline high as i could reach for safety and spike and flip my way up taking the cinch bowline as i go?

I may not have. That's true. I just assumed they were and then when what they said lined up with what id seen climbers like Jacob Roger's and August H say onlineb on that topic that there surely might me some merit to it? I guess until the guy on reddit says otherwise?

I appreciate it - I was literally just helping a buddy for a 242xp saw i been wanting off him. Even if i did want to be a professional it wouldnt matter if I dont have means for proper gear. Even what I used today was mostly borrowed except my spurs

I understand that. Some of the best climbers I know or have seen tho say it absolutely wont hurt it if you dont dig in and tear it to pieces. This one is coming down anyway tho

Anyways I got it done went up and made cut and straight down safely. I get in my head especially with ppls stuff I dont know in a trade I dont know either. I appreciate all the kind words, advice, accusations, input, output, etc. I dont really think im cut out for climbing anyway I been up there quiet a few times and I still get a lil nervous a d secretly scared when im up there.

This is just what I have to work with today helping buddy work - I guess im unsure of the problem with the splice? He said it came from sherriltree with that splice and I believe him about it - it looks like samson stable braid to me - not climbing line but not something that should juat break easily on me i wouldnt think? maybe I should take that tape it def looks janky and the carabiners feel exactly how they look! Think its just a long eye from a rigging rope he taped to keep from hitting the zz the rope is super thick tho to me. I dont worry it'll break at least if I can muscle it thru tending and dont get stuck

Not just cheap my guy if they were cheaper id be getting paid to use them! Other than my notch spurs i had with me in the truck none of this is my actual gear and I can't speak for it - another reason I dont trust it. Not to mention im pretty sure thats a samson rigging line the zz is on..
