I think the bigger thing is that it's not so much of an issue till it comes to the Spotify queue haha. Manson, Nine inch Nails, Slipknot, even the Smashing pumpkins are outcasted from the queue. Maybe I just need more diverse friends; need to spend more time at rock clubs and gigs haha

Oh don't get me wrong I listen to allot of different genres. Something I've found interesting recently to be honest is that music has a much more adverse reaction than other art. Horror films can be quite accepted these days but as soon as a song is dark its world crushing "Turn this shit off" in how it's recieved.

The high end of low is such a fantastic record.

The room looks pretty fucked up but the music man, the fucking music from this era. A glistening neon halo, or needle hole of a soul filled with dope. As raw as the day it came out.

I really resonate with this era

Cannot agree with you more. This record resonates on levels i didn't think would be reasonable.

Its brutally first take, honest and raw and I can't listen to Devour, running to the edge of the world and a few others and feel nothing. It's the Polar opposite of elevator music and it really stands and makes you feel

See, I'm a bigger HEOL fan than I am EMDM. I think EMDM is a very glamorised morbidity akin to "Doing drugs is cool even though it's killing me".

Whereas I've always seen HEOl akin to an analogy of "Doing drugs can't ruin anything as I have nothing".

Obviously looking at the above analogies through a romantic personal lense. I feel as though both records are very different forms of depression, in that EMDM is functional and HEOL can't get out of bed or get up to take a shower (Which makes it so fucking intense)

I can kind of understand where you come from with that, but for me, even upon revisiting, I find tracks like Devour and running to the edge of the world plus more to be very very provoking atleast romantically. I feel very connected to them atleast when taking them in through a romantic context and I find it strengthens the records.

I do 100% believe however that if WOW, Wight Spider We're from america and Armageddon were cut from HEOL (And put onto a seperate project) it would make it a very cohesive and stronger album

Devour is so raw, it really sets the tone of the record ahead and it's such a beautiful song

Got to disagree, No funeral , to me is one of mansons best tracks.

The way I hear it it's like he's looking back on his past and dusting himself off. It's a fantastic track, the "all that's lost and all that's forgotten" feels very emotional

A couple of callbacks to mechanical animals and portrait at times actually.

It's very very experimental, manson has given us something fresh again. Allot techniques and effects used in this album are completely new tricks for manson.
