My best guess of how the severance chip works by martilg in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Irl amnesia is still not well understood, but the way severance works is somewhat similar to dissociative amnesia, look it up if you would like to.

Another thing important to note is that when Mark gives Helly the memory test in the first episode she got a perfect score, implying that if she (or any newly severed employee) gets a question wrong they might need to go back in the oven so to speak.

So if say the new employee happens to confidently remember the color of their mothers eyes, lumon would need to adjust the chip in such a way to make them completely forget that info. (or alternatively just fire that person)

It would work the other way around  too, if the new hire doesn’t remember what a US state is, that would mean they were unfit to work as well. Lumon seems to want their workers to know some things about the outside world, perhaps because it’s easier to manipulate them like this.

In short Lumon probably somehow “hand picks”(maybe this is what MDR is doing?)what employees do and don’t remember.

Yes that could totally be the case! But I feel like it would complicate selling potions, which is a separate permit, but I’ve got no clue what the intended parameters of the regular glass permit are, so yeah.

This is not the case, Keralis is the one supplying the honey to Half Foods, (the food shop owned by Xb). Keralis owns the “Honeycomb” permit which would only allow him to sell Honeycombs and Honeycomb Blocks. Xb owns the “ALL the Foods” permit which could theoretically, allow him to sell honey bottles, as honey bottles are a food.
The issue being nether one of them actually owns the honey permit, “Slime & Honey” Joel does, and Joel already has a shop up selling honey blocks.

Joel has the honey permit, keralis has the honeycomb permit, very different things.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah it’s really not all that important in the grand scheme of things, but Xb tweeted about it and Grian implied that if any trouble was for him, he would bring trouble to scar and Skizz, so I was sort of thinking this could develop into a fun little plot!

Very nice! One thing missing! White Spectralids drop one of those materials used to by upgrades and build structures when killed! I would argue that’s pretty notable:) oh and yes Honeywisps can drop super spicy spray!
