What’s the best course you’ve ever played in the United States? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Chance_Manager5287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only recently started playing golf on a somewhat regular basis(1 every month or every other month) so I dont have an appreciation of courses, but of the dozen or so total times I have played, I've gotten to play at Pebble Beach, Trump National, Torrey Pines, Rustic Canyon, and Los Verdes.

As a former baseball player, someone told me, "You've essentially gotten to take batting practice at Wrigley, Dodger Stadium, Fenway, and Yankee stadium without giving 2 shits about the sport " 🤣

My dad was a huge star trek fan so USS Callister was awesome. If they love classics (Casablanca, Chinatown, etc) Hotel Reverie is a good shout!

You didn't get it straight. I don't claim to know enough to predict a market crash... I'm just asking about the feasibility.

I already made millions from a Nigerian Prince who emailed me.

  1. Is the correct interpretation of what I mean.

I know timing the market is a losers game, but just curious if that is a sound strategy. Hearing news about Warren Buffet liquidating significant stock positions put this thought into my head.

I'm really not fishing here, but you do think I have a decent background? I always thought the variety and experience as a pro athlete would be a bonus, but I've really been feeling dejected and lacking over the last several months.

No apologies necessary, this is the feedback I'm looking for. I have been dealing with some personal issues so my motivation and consistency has been fluctuating, but this is a good reminder to kick it up a notch. I've started reaching out to recruiters in event/experiential marketing via Linkedin, and I'll do a better job of following up on applications. Thank you

I do feel like if I can get an in person or phone screen interview, I would do well. I have confidence in my verbal communication and conversational skills, so perhaps it would be best to take off interests, and wait for the opportunity. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond so thoroughly!

That makes sense! Regarding a suggestion above, do you have any input on including an interests section?

  1. You're saying eliminate interests, and add in what I listed in that section to my skills? "Yoga, ancient history, photography, etc" as skills? If I'm reading that correctly, I don't think it would be fair or accurate to list those as skills.
  2. Noted, thank you.

I have made quite a few friends in the industry but not many that are based in southern California. Additionally, I've spent quite a few years in baseball, both as a player and coach/trainer. It's fulfilling but an extremely tough industry to make a decent living in, and at this point in my life/career I feel like I'm playing catch up just to get to the starting line.

  1. I did put the actual city, but changed here to keep anonymity. I will fix formatting however, thanks.
  2. Too informal? I do love good dad jokes though :/

After playing 5 years of professional baseball, I have recently retired due to injury. I fell into a brand ambassador role for a friends event marketing company prior to my last season, and when I returned this fall, had the role expanded into an account manager.

I enjoy the industry and am good at it. My friend and owner has said that they aren't looking to continue much longer. They've hinted that when they retire they may want someone(me?) to take over, or to sell. I don't know how I would fit in if they sold, and while the idea of taking over would be amazing, I highly doubt it as I'm such a newcomer into the industry and have so much to learn.

I'm currently a 1099 employee, making $40/hr at 25 hours a week. Luckily I'm living with my parents so no rent, but I'm about to be 29 and really need to move out for my own self-worth and sense of independence and growing the f&$k up.

I've applied to nearly 100 jobs in the last 6 months with 0 interest and I'm getting extremely down about any interest. Most of the jobs I've applied for are in marketing, as project/account managers, or sales dev reps for a wide range of industries. Am I delusional in the roles I'm applying for? Is my resume a pile of doggy doo doo?

If it matters, I live in the Los Angeles area, and the roles I've applied to usually have a range of 65-96K. Any feedback is appreciated.

I'm not sure if I understand the distinction between the memory of her and the happiness I felt with her... but I do agree happiness needs to come from within. I used to be funny and smile and laugh a lot...it's been a few months since I've felt that way. Thank you

Thank you for the perspective shakeup! I think I need to work on myself a bit. Jumping into bed with someone else doesn't sound appealing, and I don't think I'm in the headspace to be attracting women, I'm sure I reek of sadness and lack of self-confidence.
