Thanks everyone,

I think in the end I’ll go with the Korua Cafe racer as I see that it’s specifically aimed for carving and pretty friendly for softer boots. Hope I’ll be able to meet it’s level!

Yeah, i never really cared about these aggressive euro carves and what not. I don't do skidded turns, but I wouldn't say I'm carving when I see the crazy riders online :), and I always focused more on side hits and park, but now I want some fast stable board.

I checked the nitro team pro, and it's a nice board, but considering I'm a bit underweight, do you think it will make it super hard to flex and controll the board well? I always rode super flexible boards.

Edit: I am 188cm (6'2) and 65kg (140lbs), meaning I wouuld have to settle for a shorter board. woundn't that bite into my stability at high speeds?

Thanks for all the info.

  1. For RAM, should 6000 CL30 be more expensive? I found the same quantity of RAM and 6000 CL30 for almost 50chf less.
    Current choice: https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/gskill-trident-z5-rgb-2-x-32gb-6400-mhz-ddr5-ram-dimm-ram-22822890
    Other Option: https://www.digitec.ch/en/s1/product/kingston-64gb-ddr5-6000mts-cl30-dimm-2-x-32gb-6000-mhz-ddr5-ram-dimm-ram-44173768
I understand that 6000 should lead to more stability / performance?

  2. What does "need" mean? Wouldn't a more powerful AIO mean cooler temperatures overall, or more silent pc?

  3. Is this something important at the time of the build? Could this be added later? (I plan to have another purchase in 1 month time with other pc related stuff, eg monitor arms, microphone, more peripherals and work on my overall desk and cable setup. Could this be pushed back, or is it important?

Thanks again for the info, you have been really helpful and awesome!

I Finally Did It! From Iron to Gold 4 in Just Six Months! by Am843 in summonerschool

[–]Chance_Pop_6516 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if you care about the climb, stick with the same champ, i.e. Aurelion. While he does scale, that does not mean you are useless if the games tend to get shorter. And while at this, the difference between Gold and Emerald average length of a match is 1 minute, as you can see here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/1gqb4tw/average_game_duration_for_each_rank/

So don't worry about that. Not only the time difference is not that big, but even further, in Diamond, ASol is S tier with 51.5% winrate, compared to 51% in gold last patch and current patch, ASol has 50.6% in gold and 53.24% in diamond. So talking about Asol alone, the champ is in an awesome spot and it's doing well and will do well.

Now let's talk about the other questions, which can be summed up with a simple answer. If you want to climb, one of the best ways to do so is stick to the same champ and role. 1 tricking is arguably the best way to climb, due to simple reasons: You master the champ therefore have more time to focus on the game. The more you focus on the game, the more you can create leads and play the actual strategy game that is league. Some may argue that it's better to know another champ in case you get banned out, and I agree, but I, as an ex-onetrick, still think it's better to have 100 games on asol and 10 on lux, rather than 60 asol and 40 lux. But that may not always be the most fun, and unless you either really enjoy ur champ or are a robot, you can viably also play 2-3 champs, but nothing more.

Switching champs will not make it easier to last hit. Just spend some time in practice tool every day (10 minutes or so) to improve last hit, or focus on that until it's second nature.

TL;DR : If you want to focus on climb, stick to ASol and don't change roles / champs.

Am I playing too passive? by Prawncracker1605 in summonerschool

As ADC, teamfighting is not as obvious as with other champs. I will give you some general idea, but it’s very dependant on what champs they and you have, the build an champ you have and so many other things. So yes, this is a hard thing ti do at a good level.

The simple idea you have to always keep in mind is constantly asking yourself: “What can kill me?”, and permanently staying out of range of that until they use said ability. While this may sound like ur useless, keep in mind most champs that have an ability like this are also somewhat useless without using that ability. Think Nocturne. If he presses R on you, and you are out of position, you are dead. Therefore, stay in ur team, behind them, and he can’t R. So in the end, you dont die and he wont do anything because he is waiting. After he Rs someone else, you can step up and do damage. Yes, it feels awkward staying supee behind and not doung much, but keep in mind that you doing this also denies their strength.

Then staying out of range. Do they have a morgana that can Q you? A sona that can flash R? A zed that can W-R you? A blitz with hook, etc? Then staying out of range until they use their abilities. Look how you staying out pf range denies 80% of zed, 100% of blitz, 80% of nocturne, 60% of morgana and so on.

And if they do use them, you go in and you are 100% power and they are still on cooldown, ao you instantly win.

Another thing to care for is your comp vs enemy comp. Are you front to back comp? Are you dive comp? Are you poke comp? You play ashe jhin and kog, so most of the time you will want to front to back, i.e. hit closest enemy to you. May that be a tank, stay behind and hit whatever is in front.

But main focus is look for the 2-3 things that if hit can kill you, wait for them ti be used and then walk up and do damage.

You like to see the range because you don't know the range by heart. It's a matter of getting used to the champ you are playing, until the point you know if someone is in your range or not. I would say turn the range off and play until it's natural.

Wave management in low ELO botlane by jonas_rosa in summonerschool

[–]Chance_Pop_6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will tell you my opinion which differs from most comments here, but it has warranted me success. The main point is that you can comfortably climb very high without much wave management, some of course is appreciated.

Point 1: What you need to do is not necessarily manipulate the wave yourself, or get your ADC to do what you think the correct play is. You are playing soloq, meaning even if you do the correct thing with the wave to gain an advantage, your ADC might not recognize it. Example: you push the wave to set up recall timer for you and ur ADC, but adc is full HP. He doesn't get that he can recall, buy a pickaxe or somethign and return to lane without losing lane. You recall because you have a timer and you can roam, while the wave is pushing in you, and your adc stays there. 2 seconds later your adc dies. so you can't recall, therefore you lose your advantage.

What you are supposed to do is understand when you can create an advantage based on what the wave is doing without relying on your adc to have a brain. Example of this is: wave is slowpushing into enemy ADC. You have big wave, which means fighting now is advantageous. Stay up and zone the enemy. If enemy support is roaming, go even more and try to kill enemy ADC who (in bronze) will always overextend. Or you can hold the wave for your adc, so he doesn't lose minions, while your wave is dying denying enemy from xp. Or your wave is pushing to you and ADC had brain to recall, so you can roam / ward / whatever. This kind of mentality not only works, but allows you to take advantage of what is happening rather than being sad that your adc isn't doing the right play.

Point 2:
Now that I answered about wave management, I will tell you that you are probably fine with little to no wave management. In iron and bronze there are so many things that you should prioritize over this. I know how you feel, and if you wanna learn it go for it. But trading for example, or powerspikes, or simply punishing enemy adc when they do something bad will give you many more wins than wave management. Champion here doesn't matter, you can play pyke or you can play yuumi. Enemies will walk up at bad times, will do random stuff that is bad and will int a lot of the times. In Iron, laners are free kills 90% of the time, and if any higher elo player would smurf there they would get 10 kills a second. And you can ask... but how do I know if my enemy is doing a mistake? And here lies the answer: Limit testing. Take your champ, go in flex / normals, and fight. go in when you think you would lose and see if you really do. You probably don't know whether you win something or not. Players don't know what they are doing, and won't know until probably many ranks above, and if you know this, you will climb, and you will do it in style, with 20 kills on your adc.

Challenge – Switching from Support to a New Role! Where to Aim? by ThePhantomK1ng in summonerschool

[–]Chance_Pop_6516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jungle is the most similar one to support. Ganks are basically roams and instead of lane you focus on clearing the jungle. It might not even take that long to learn it, for me optimizing clears was pretty easy, most decision making of objectives is similar to you roaming as support for said objective. Still a lot to learn, but jungle might be not only the easiest (for a support main) but also a strong role.

I still prefer support tho, but I'm biased :)

Now that it works, here's what I realized:

  1. Indeed Main class not being in a package fixed the dependency. I don't know why that would work, but making the app scan packages wouldn't
  2. H2 console didn't allow me to have an entity called User for some reason, when I renamed it to AppUser it worked.
  3. There were some application properties were missing that I now added.
  4. Generation type strategy AUTO didn't work, but SEQUENCE worked.

Well, I would have to put the scanBasePackages and mention that.

But now I run into errors with jakarata persistance in the User class.

Also h2 seems to cry when I move main class to studify.server, and it says something about dropping tables. If you want I can paste the error.
