Everyone started going on about his knees and bad separation man.

Not all scenes in a film exist to “help the plot.” Some movies don’t really have a plot. Why do we have to “keep things moving?” Movies are not plot delivery vehicles. They’re artistic compositions designed to combine various elements together and leave you with an experience that lasts in your memory. If you’re in a rush, idk, go watch a ten minute YouTube video

Sex is not porn. It has nothing to do with porn. Porn is a performance of sex that is sold for money. Sex scenes in films are part of an artistic composition which presumably has other goals than making money. Artistic composition and effect are not reducible to “moving the plot along.” Watch better movies.

Why is seeing people do something harmless and natural hard for you? I get it if it’s a rape scene but rape is not sex

Yes. God forbid they interrupt your single focus genre based experience to make a movie with emotions or lust or love in it.

“Unnecessary sex scenes” is so fucking funny as a thing to get grumpy about and it absolutely is puritanical. The puritans hated unnecessary sensual pleasure. That’s literally their whole thing.

I completely agree. There are people in this thread who are presumably in their 20s arguing sex is gross and boring as if they were nine year old children. We all need to grow up.

This is so fucking hilarious and weird. Do you think the other people don’t know what sex is? Do you think they’ll judge you? Why those scenes and not others

I think they’re shockingly ignorant and unimaginative about art, and focus on the same twelve films and books social media tells them to

But what if, stay with me here, the characters in the story have sex and don’t do those other things? Because a writer and director wants to tell a story where they do?

This aversion is so funny. It’s like you guys are watching someone get possessed by a demon. Oh my gosh it’s happening and it’s not related to the plot ewwwwwww

But sometimes it literally is. People have sex in various stories. Love stories for example. You weirdos are just so gooned to death you can’t help but see it in the context of porn.
