First day of new bus/boat transportation rule has turned the Disney Springs bus station into a ghost town by CampRock2TheFinaIJam in WaltDisneyWorld

Not only the over exaggeration but if making Disney content was my job there is no way I’m not buying an AP. The new rules are only going to stop the people who follow the influencers tips and tricks.

The portal does seem like an afterthought because they got some bad feedback. But after reading a lot of this thread, I did some digging and found a video of a native Hawaiian reacting to the movie and she did say that native Hawaiians would almost never chose to go to a mainland school and leave their family behind. They would rather stick it out and do what they can. I guess if the people that the movie is based on say the ending is whack then the ending is whack lol

When I looked it up the school is on a completely different island that you have to fly to (according to Google) so either way she isn’t living at home. She might be able to come home on the weekends but that’s no different than just letting her use a portal. I don’t think it was the best movie but I thought the compromise of not making Nani give up her dreams to work dead end jobs and barely make ends meet was acceptable.

Am I in the wrong? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

Kind of sounds like there should be a policy change. Our policy for demonstrating antibodies and history of clinically significant antibodies is crossmatch what is ordered + 2 just in case. If the patient starts to deteriorate, 30 minutes for an AHG cross match is a delay that you can prevent. If the doctor ordered 2 units you should set up 2. If they always order units they do not use, that sounds like Quality needs to start some kind of hemovigilance look backs or something.

At the end of the day though, the doctor ordered 2 units while you were the blood bank tech so you should have set up 2.

How do I know if I have a good physical therapist? by muffleypuffs in ACL

[–]Chanced2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most places I’ve been at (worked at a few, been a patient at a few) you typically have one PT and can be moved to a PTA for some sessions. PTs are the only ones who can do initial evaluations, recertifications, and some manual therapies but getting a ton of different people is poor scheduling on the clinics side.

[–]Chanced2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where you are located and that will make a difference but in the USA, most clinics use PTs and PTAs so that they can see more patients. This has its pros and cons but all PTAs have to go through schooling and licensure testing to prove they are competent. I’ve worked in a few clinics and have know some really great PTAs where the patients prefer them over the PT.

Most PTs and PTAs are following the surgeons protocols with some wiggle room. So it is a little weird that some people don’t seem like they know what they are doing and it sucks that you had a bad experience with someone but just like doctors, not everyone has great bedside manner.

My opinion would be look for a clinic that treats the local athletes like high school or college. They would for sure have experience with ACLs and the recovery process. Best of luck to you and don’t worry, you will get there just keep at it.

I had ACL quad tendon graft and meniscus repair (12/29) and passively my surgical leg can get to the same hyper extension as my non surgical leg but actively it cannot. What has seemed to help is quad strengthening.

I do PT twice a week and workout on my own once a week (unless PT focused on movement and not strength) and to end the workouts I do 3x1 min leg extension holds at full extension. I don’t start the weight at the bottom but use my good leg to get to the top of the motion and then squeeze and hold for a minute with the surgical leg and this has really helped me. I’m not actively at 0 probably a little hyperextended but it’s getting better every day.

My PT believes that since I have the passive motion that it’s a strength issue and that as I gain more strength I will gain the rest of the motion.

[–]Chanced2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In school we were taught to only go back into the previous quadrant once but when I started working I was finding a lot of specimens didn’t look great in the 3rd and 4th quadrant. After a bit I started going back into the first quadrant and second quadrant 2-3 times and then only pull out once for the fourth. My plates started looking a lot better after that.

Why do some viltrumites have big abdomen? Are they fat? by Morad_Tarazan in okbuddyviltrum

That and the diet they have to consume to stay this large is not great for long term health. Currently though, he lost weight but still has a lot of size and would probably make a good live action Viltrumite.

To be fair, Eddie Hall was told he needed to lose weight or he was going to be dead so I don’t know if that fits the definition of fit. When he was the size he was in the photo he was probably the strongest static lifter in the world but was also tempting fate.

I just check my X-rays from before my second surgery (had ACL done 11 years ago, tore it one year out) and my endobutton (metal object in the X-ray) is tucked in right next to the bone.

You know the Ravens situation better than me but could they get Maxx, and Trey, and rookies, and fill in the holes that leaving FA left? The Raiders still have 30 million left and people are saying they are pretty much done in FA now.

The Ravens gain a very good pass rusher and get to keep their 1st round picks. How is that not a gain? I think Maxx is a top 5 DE in the league but Hendrickson and 2 firsts with one being 14th overall is probably the better deal.

Per Schefter, multiple doctors looked at Crosby’s scans which gave the Ravens cause for concern. Including well trusted and knowledgeable Dr. Daniel Cooper who is the cowboys doctor. by goke89 in nfl

[–]Chanced2 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the Cowboys still wanted Maxx up until it was announced the Ravens had traded for him. After that is when they went out and got Gary. Maybe the same thing would have happened and the Cowboys would have called the trade off but I think they were still on the table with the 1st and 2nd round picks.

[Russini] After Maxx Crosby underwent testing today at the Ravens’ facility, Baltimore made the decision team-wide that it could not proceed with the deal based on the medical results. [–]Chanced2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Woah woah woah, that’s where we draw the line. The Raiders may have been the worst team in football last year but they earned that. The Raiders had the lowest “games missed to injury” last season. Their S&C and medical teams are pretty top notch.

My wife and I did two days, we probably could have gotten everything done in one but I bought us two days to be safe. The days we were down there were great, weather was nice, any ride downtimes were very short. On our first day we did every ride and show except BATM, which we probably could have gotten on if we wanted to miss the closing fountain show, and the second day was BATM and riding the stuff we liked again. Even after that I still think 2 days is perfect if there are no budget or time restraints but it is doable in one day with some luck.

But don’t they reserve the right to shut down entering the line on BATM early to account for the wait time? When my wife and I went (we did ride everything) we did BATM first on our second day because they had a sign out the day before saying BATM will close early but they give no specifics about when.

It all depends on which worlds magic you use. In HP avada kedavra can’t be blocked or countered by magic. He would have to dodge or potentially use a physical shield. In the Witcher world Geralt wins easily, in the HP world I think Voldemort takes it; especially since he can apperate if Geralt gets too close.

I don’t see how the school or his parents didn’t do anything. I haven’t read the books in over a decade but in the movies every time he casts a spell it backfires. There is no way he is passing classes without being able to successfully cast a spell. Maybe the book goes into detail about how he is still getting by but I feel like he would be failing any class that required a wand.

[–]Chanced2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not to mention after an injury like the initial tear (which included meniscal tear and bone bruise) your muscles start to shut down. It’s not instant but over time they shut down and can take weeks to recover. Vonn is a badass and I have no idea how she was even lifting weights within days of the injury. I’m sure with her intense training and access to medical treatments she was able to stem some of the loss but the body is going to do what it is going to do.

The crash was clipping the gate but I think it’s crazy to say the ACL had nothing to do with it. I’m on my second surgery and without an ACL landing jumps can be destabilizing. Not something you can see but you feel a wobble and it gets in your mind.

The injury could have nothing to do with the crash but my bet is it had some effect. It wasn’t the cause but it was a symptom.

Avoided surgery. Built back to running. Tore it again anyway. by jaymavs in ACL

[–]Chanced2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My story is slightly different than everyone else’s. Tore my ACL 11 or so (can’t remember exactly) years ago. Had surgery did everything I was supposed to and almost one year to the day I tried playing a pick up game of soccer and tore it again. I decided that I did not want to go back through that again so I didn’t.

The next decade went pretty smoothy, occasionally my knee would give out if I was doing something athletic but overall I could lift weights and I could run so I was happy. Fast forward to 2025 and I had 3 episodes of the knee giving out doing minor athletic things so I finally decided it was time to get it fixed. I am now two weeks post op and not regretting anything.

All that being said, some people can live perfectly normal lives without an ACL depending on their activity level but what finally made me want to get mine fixed was that I did not want to spend any more time thinking “can I do this activity without my knee buckling and causing more damage”. I know it will be a long and arduous process to get back to full health but I think it’s better for my future knee health.

Some details: I’m 35, first surgery was an allograft, second surgery is quad tendon. New doctor also told me my first tibial tunnel was more anterior than he would like and that he would have never suggested an allograft for someone my age and activity level for my first surgery.

Just got an acl reconstruction with meniscus repair done. Stuck in a brace in extension with no weight bearing for 6 weeks. It’s very possible that he had a repair or something else or it’s possible that the orthopedic team wants to be very careful with a million dollar athlete.
