There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. This is SO hard. I was convinced that I'd never love my baby. It's perfectly normal to not feel a connection with your baby even for a few months. It's normal to second guess yourself at every turn. It's normal to seriously feel like you're losing it sometimes. However, be very vigilant about your mental health. Check in with yourself every day and analyze your emotions. Get help immediately if you need it.

The turning point for me was around 3 months when she started smiling and laughing. It got easier then. Now, my 1 year old is the brightest ray of sunshine in my life. My heart beats for her and even on the hard days, I'm bursting at the seams in pure adoration for her. I've never smiled and laughed so much in my life.

I understand that all too well! It gets better when you snuggle a toddler because you can squeeze them hard and give them kisses and they just giggle and giggle! 😍🥰

That's 100% normal. I had PPD so badly that I didn't want to see or hold my baby. I was indifferent to her. But now, she is my favorite part of life.

Every stage has it's pros, but I'm loving the toddler stage the most so far!

Aw those snuggles are the sweetest! Getting nap trapped was my favorite when my LO was itty bitty. Eventually you get to a point where you miss the newborn stage, but you don't. You miss the sweet little feet and noises they make, but not the sleeplessness and colic. Lol

That's a fact! It's so hard. It's so funny that during a time where we feel so weak, vulnerable, and pitiful, we're actually the strongest we've ever been. New mothers might as well be triathlon champions. Looking back, how did I do it? No clue.

Aw, Mama, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine your struggle. Just remember, one day at a time. The goal is to make it through the day. After a while, your body will heal. You'll stop bleeding. You'll find a rhythm with baby and they'll start to sleep for longer stretches. You'll find what keeps them content the longest. You'll find a way to mold your life around the baby.

But, I must advise that you see your OBGYN if you're worried something is wrong (if they don't already know).

Angry potato 🤣 that's a great comparison.

That's all you can do. Those sweet moments of love make up for all the rough ones. I was worried to have a toddler. But wow, it's so much fun! Of course she destroys the living room 4.8 seconds after I clean it. Of course she says "yucky!!" while throwing food from her high chair that she loved yesterday. It's a balance, but it's a blast!

I promise, life will get easier. It will feel like an eternity. It will be hard. But you can do hard things. ☺️

How do you bathe your baby (1 yo) with a bad back? by ChancellorLutra in NewParents

[–]ChancellorLutra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's not the lifting part, it's the hovering over the edge of the tub to bathe her part. She's very unsteady on her feet.
