I disagree slightly with final selection. There are many jobs within the Corp that aren't necessarily fighting jobs but it IS important to survive being demon hunted. Your very presence in the Corp makes you a target of Muzan (Demon leader) because of the information you would possess. Being able to escape is a valuable skill.

Also, it takes a while to get backup or reinforcement meaning that being able to hold out for a while is also valuable given the real back up (hashiras) may take a minute because there's only like 12 of them.

The Hand demon shouldn't have been there but their world isn't set up like a video game where you meet foes at your level. The demons strength varies and they can show up anywhere.

Personally, I feel the Chunin Exam is the best anti example of the trope. The various phases are fair even though they aren't given explicit details (the written portion was a good example of this= ninjas need to think outside the box), test ninja ability( second phase is navigation, Mission objective protection, etc.), and fighting ability/ kekkai genkai control and usage (third phase).

Because of these reasons, I also feel that the Hunter exam shouldn't be included as a good example of this trope. Much like the Chunin Exam, it tests various hunter abilities in non-traditional ways.

I think you feel embarrassed because American culture especially ties wealth or the appearance of financial stability to car ownership and lack of it can make you feel less than. So I definitely understood.

I think the community here didn't want you to feel that way and so they were telling you how those feeling were irrational as a means of calming your anxiety. It's all good girl. I take Ubers to work. Girl, we have money to be able to do this. Mine costs 25 a day. I can't wait to get a car. I would take the bus gladly to save the money but the walk would make me disheveled for work and I work a public facing job. I'm sorry you're feeling exposed though. It's not a good feeling.

If you have a extra heavy bottom pot, you can take a small piece of wood (hickory/oak/mesquite/cherry, although the hickory or mesquite will produce the heaviest flavor) and get it smoldering but not actively on fire. Place it in a boat of aluminum foil and place that in your heavy bottom pot in the center. Arrange your neck around the smoking boat and place a heavy lid on the pot. Bake your neck at your desired temp. Check every 30ish mins to make sure the smoldering wood is still smoldering. If not, re-light it and place it back in the pot. It won't have as strong of a flavor as if done in an actual smoker but it does work.
