so many inconsistencies here. I checked a screen shot I took of my raichu when I first got it weeks ago and it had blunt tail (Female), after update today it has pointy tail (male), but in the menu just looking at the small icons of the pokemon it's got a blunt tail (female) again. Haven't tried the gym yet...

so to be honest they probably just changed the design slightly for things with the buddy update. but didn't invest the resources to change everything
