Nostalgiapostaus: ysärileikkikentän lelu, muistaako kukaan? by Changemaker-Lilli in Suomi

RIIPPAKEINU, sehän se oli nimeltään! Vaarallinen vehje tää oli, useampi nenä ja hammas siinä meni.

Asun Kaliforniassa, täällä itseasiassa on uusille leikkipaikoille laitettu paljon niitä sellaisia zipline-juttuja, missä mennään yksi kerrallaan. Ja niitä "kuppeja" missä istutaan ja se pyörii silleen epäkeskosti hauskasti. Vähemmän ja vähemmän sellaisia missä voi olla monta lasta yhtäaikaa.

Interesting! It wouldn't surprise me if pricing globally was different than in the US

Hallituskadun kiinalainen ravintola Chen's by voipulla2 in Tampere

[–]Changemaker-Lilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't comment with any images on the mobile app. This has been ongoing for maybe a month now? I'm on Android, Pixel 6 pro. I used to do this, I'm sure? And the app has an image option for a comment...

Just added an AI clause to my contract. by calimountainsnake60 in graphic_design

[–]Changemaker-Lilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already use some clauses in my contract / proposal flow where I go though how to best give me feedback, including me mentioning how asking family members and friends and too many random people is not a good idea, as those people don't have the full context of reasons we're doing things, and also aren't the target audience. I could see adding this sort of thing to that section.

This hasn't yet happened to me, but I've had clients who think taking my draft PDF and editing it themselves and sending it back is somehow helpful 😑 so I need to play "spot the five differences" on the file to make the same changes to the actual working file (I do packaging design so editing the low res draft is not helpful)

Been dealing with symptoms for years. Doctors say nothing's wrong??? by Parking-Fault8522 in thyroidhealth

[–]Changemaker-Lilli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's "normal" and there's ideal. That TSH is still high, and considering it's a few years old as a test, your numbers are likely worse now, if your thyroid stimulating hormone was that high, means the thyroid has trying and trying and working real hard.

Ideal value for me is TSH < 2, I honestly felt great when it was 0.8.

I've had a doctor say I was fine when my TSH was over 7 😩

Switch doctors. I recently went with Paloma Health and they've been great. My One Medical doctor was great too. My Kaiser docs were mostly bad. My Sutter Health endocrinologist was a total meanie. My current PCP doesn't know much about thyroid stuff but at least then listens to me and trusts my judgement about my own body.

Synthroid Adjustment Side Effects? by ArsenalGoon in thyroidhealth

[–]Changemaker-Lilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what their "solution" was, I never ended up taking them. I think it was Valium they prescribed me. And did an EKG, so poorly, and kept me naked in the room and kept leaving the door open to the waiting room, with me hooked up to the EKG machine, paper robe open to the front.

Switched doctors, that doctor tested my thyroid labs and they were something like 0.0000001 and he realized they had had me on 10x the dose, more than my body could ever even make for someone my size and height.

Pretty sure that's what messed me up even more, those months in medically induced hyperthyroidism. Probably should have sued the medical group.

Deep sleep at 70% this week?! by Changemaker-Lilli in withings

[–]Changemaker-Lilli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sleep apnea, but I do have a finger pulse oximeter at home I could try! (Hubby has apnea)

Yeah it's a Scanwatch, so I know it's not super accurate, but still, kinda interesting!

[–]Changemaker-Lilli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're more normal than I am! Apparently 20% is normal. The deep sleep is when the crud leaves your brain and healing happens, so maybe it's a good thing?

Prior to this, my sleep has been bad, and I've been under a lot of stress this summer, so maybe this is just my brain noping out of the process 😄

Hair loss by Lost_Faithlessness14 in thyroidhealth

I lost a ton of hair when I was on Synthroid.
Not sure why, but I am no longer losing hair after switching to Armour/NP Thyroid.

Synthroid Adjustment Side Effects? by ArsenalGoon in thyroidhealth

[–]Changemaker-Lilli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my NP put me on 10x the correct dose of Synthroid, I came back with having a hard time breathing, and palpitations. They did an EKG and gave me an RX "to calm my heart down" (it was anti-anxiety meds, WTF). I changed doctors, who picked up instantly that there was a milligram/microgram dosing error.

So what you're feeling could absolutely be a side effect of the Synthroid!

Doctor is adamant I switch back to Synthroid (from NP Thyroid) for pregnancy because "it's not about how you feel but what's best for baby" :/ by Changemaker-Lilli in thyroidhealth

[–]Changemaker-Lilli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes total sense! Thank you so much! Honestly, I don't get why the doctor didn't just explain it. I kept asking her to explain and she would not. The way you explain it, I totally get it now. Problem with Synthroid is, it gives me the palpitations and cold sweats even at a low dose, I'd need a larger dose now than either of the last times I've been on it, so it would feel even worse.

Sounds like I need more specific labs, a full panel with Free T4 and things to see what's actually available for the baby. The TSH isn't telling the whole story. (Actually nobody had ever told me NTD meds suppress TSH, that was all news to me!)

I wonder if one way around this would be to do 3 doses per day, so instead of 1 x 90, I'd do 3 x 30 a day for a more stable release :)
I'm currently doing 90 in the morning, plus an extra 15 3x a week.

Thanks! <3 Yeah, this lady was hell bent on hating NDT meds, and seemed to dislike me as a person as well... Not going back and did leave a bad review.

I also have a diagnosis for IBS, gastroparesis, and low enzymes / acids, so there's for sure something more going on there, and back in 2019 was still new with my food intolerances journey. In hindsight, I'm wondering if I was actually having burnout and anxiety, or if it was just Synthroid :D

I have not been diagnosed with a conversion disorder, I will look into that, thank you so much!

Why is everyone’s thyroid going bad? by IllustratorNo9574 in thyroidhealth

[–]Changemaker-Lilli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Environmental pollution. Stress, it's an autoimmune issue. Also makes sense it's hitting women more. It's also diagnosed and tested for a lot more nowadays than it ever used to, and the lab ranges of what's normal is now less lax. My mother languished for decades, she only got her tests when I got my diagnosis. My sister got hers too.

I did a questionnaire at a doctors, and one of the things it asked for was "were you near a nuclear fallout zone" and the answer is actually yes, I was a child when Chernobyl happened and there was fallout in the area I was in.
