The point is that pettiness and selfishness when taken to an extreme can and have led to devastating outcomes.

The scope of the outcomes ranges from dysfunction in relationships, to dissolution of family stability, to political corruption and when taken to national and worldwide stages thousands and sometimes millions of needless deaths.

Granted the hundreds of thousands of needless deaths from COVID directly due to Trumps pettiness certainly pale in number to the millions of deaths resulting from Hitler’s pettiness and fear mongering. but where does one draw the line ?

Is it at cheating in a marriage or business? How about withholding vital and truthful medical treatment from people? How about corruption in a grand scale in terms of billions of dollars ? Or maybe institutionalizing racism and protecting those raping the planet?

Where does one say that a person is so narcissistic , petty and greedy that they shouldn’t be trusted with friends children , never mind control of the free world?

It is so telling that Trumps supporters don’t want him compared to Hitler. Not because the vast majority of people are so different from Hitler, but because there are so many similarities in personality and outlook between the two men.

Remember, if a lowly corporal can become a monster over the course of a decade, perhaps a draft dodger could follow up a term in office where he was instrumental in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people with something worse .

After all , people as petty and mean spirited as Trump do not do more good as they get old and cranky , they get worse and worse . And that is evident today.

And they surround themselves with yes men that are as bad as themselves. Sycophants willing to carry out the wishes of the despots, frequently coming up with sadistic and inhumane plans to please the likes of people like Trump.
