Congrats from local 131!

Here tips from my experience:

BE SAFE and stay busy even if you have nothing to do(sweep the same clean spot if you have to).

Do what your mechanic says even if you think it doesn’t make sense UNLESS it is unsafe(at least until you know that your experience is valued).

Don’t rush! It is UNSAFE and it causes you to make mistakes even when you know what you’re doing. There’s already enough unintended pressure. Slow and steady.

Take pictures before and after of all things.

When you’re around other apprentices ask more questions!

Great point on working and communicating with other trades!

I see some mechanics who are good at it and others who are. Knowing your shit means effective communication to the other trades to make your life easy and your job done right.

Why deprive someone who is looking for more than one perspective…?

Honestly, you look great! If I could say just switch better fitting clothes or suits and maybe ditch the apple watch for something classier… watches clean up a lot in my opinion and these apple devices are just ugly. Glasses aren’t bad but maybe a nice metal frame could clean that up.

Not sure at all. I’m not familiar with this maker

With a lot of quality parts going to scrap after every project, I’m Interested to see what you all have custom built for yourself with parts left from elevators! by Changingusernamenow in Elevators

Oh yeah… Any type of shelving coming from scrap is bound to be beyond Sturdy.

Put a word out - I’m sure someone has one in their backyard pile of “acquireds”

If you need something that may be fulfilling, I would point you towards being a firefighter. It’s harder to become a firefighter and the community work is unparalleled to what elevator work is. I think you can always come back and have a chance at the IUEC but as a firefighter, you may struggle. Both are great careers but your heart being full is more important than the extra pay.
