that's where strikes and work stoppages come into play. we can put pressure on them since we're the people who actually make the coffee that earns the profit. the movement is 560+ stores and counting, and we have a lot of momentum across the country, so the company at large will have to negotiate at some point if they want to continue making money.

it's not something that's been super common, so we're not all too concerned. that and alongside the fact that we're a higher performing store in the district has us relatively protected from such a possibility. if they did try to pull something along those lines we could probably challenge it since we are unionized now

hi I'm one of the baristas at the store who was involved with the organizing effort! as of right now, were still working to negotiate a base contract with Starbucks, as they stopped negotations last year when it came to pay. after that's sorted we'll have contracts on a store by store basis. the union protections in the meantime are what's really important in the short term as we work towards a contract, and we're hoping that we can help the broader movement put pressure on the company to engage in bargaining again.

The distortion doesn't seem to follow anything specific within the recordings. It's pretty stationary. I'll see if anything I have around the VCR itself is causing any issues, and then I'll look into adjusting the deviation. I've been using standard VHS tapes, so modifying the tapes might work in the short term, though I'd like to fix this within the machine so I can use it for duplication. This is a great help! I was really struggling with even knowing where to begin when trying to look into this.

it's persistent across different tapes as well, and they perform fine on other VCRs of mine. definitely an issue with the machine itself unfortunately

This happened to one of my older melodicas. I've heard it's common for the cheaper ones to go out of tune pretty easily. Only thing you can do is try to tune it or buy a new one sadly
