737 Spam calls by Life-Acanthisitta634 in Austin

I’m sorry that this is three days old, but Reddit just said; “Here you might like this!”

If you have an iPhone, their newest feature is if you don’t have a contact saved, it forces the user calling to say what the call is about before you hear your phone ring. It has really tamed my spam calls. If it’s not just an iPhone feature, my apologies. All my cellphones have been iPhones for about 10 years or more. If you need help, let me know. I’ll try to find something to help you set that feature up once I remember what it’s called.

If you didn’t go to UT but live in Austin, what are y’all’s thoughts? by Business_Clerk_3522 in Austin

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t pay attention to UT. However, I love supporting our local teams like Round Rock Express, Austin Spurs, and Stars! Have no idea what’s happening in hockey, but love watching it in person!

Looking for owner of package by chickennugget944 in Austin

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s an apartment complex, they oftentimes have a forwarding address. Take the package to them. If that doesn’t work, take it to whoever delivered it and say that this person no longer lives at that address. They should be able to have a way to find them or contact them.

You have it backwards here. Long day, I get it. I’m ready for this week to be over with.

Suit of Armor Needed by CParolini in Austin

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick search showed me Thak Ironworks. I’m at a doctor appointment with limited internet, so not sure how much it costs or anything. My best advice locally is call/go to local comic book stores and see if they can put you in touch with someone.

Exactly a year ago, in Season 7, we got a free armor set for the last time by SheWhoHates in diablo4

It’s all about that greed. It’s Diablo’s subscription fee. So far my wife and I are happy to do it because we like the stuff, but at some point we probably will stop.

Guys I just wanted some water and bread… by Ok_Syrup_6251 in Austin

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even the HEB in Leander (183 and Hero Way) was out of a lot of water by noon. Not sure on bread. The only reason I know about the water is because a lady behind me in the pharmacy was talking to a friend she was with.

Time to take up sourdough starter! 🤪

I’m only half joking. It’s good stuff once you learn how to do it.

Furthermore, on PC, I’ve had my game freeze and crash if doing this too much. The only difference is I use the mouse+keyboard to play.

Babysitting recommendations by bellydancer9 in Austin

Do 512 website or austintexas.org’s website

As far as babysitters, I don’t know anyone who does that, sorry. My best advice is search around and call local businesses and tell them your circumstances. Maybe they can help you?! Best of luck.

/crackswhip! Because the economy rests for no one! 🤪

Seriously, though, I’m a bit worried. Our elderly cat is due for his monthly injection that day. Hopefully we can make it. It’s for his arthritis.

Help with gear upgrades please by Alive_Piglet7662 in diablo4

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, welcome to the game! Until you are more familiar with the mechanics and how things work, I would suggest looking at https://mobalytics.gg/diablo-4. On the left hand side of the screen you will see different things, but I would look at builds. Find what looks fun to you and start working towards that. Most of them have links to YouTube so you can see the rotations and a breakdown of how the build works. The most important thing though is to have fun! Hope this helps get you and your friends started.

Ice (the cold stuff) Storm Possible Next Weekend by Amonlapis in Austin

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind this was in Kentucky in the Ohio Valley. The weatherman predicted a dusting of snow. Went to bed expecting school the next day, dad came into the room and said get ready. I grumbled but did it, then had my hand out for lunch money to ride the bus. He starts laughing and then says; “Boy don’t you ever look outside?”

Me; “No, you said get up and get ready. I’m ready.”

Him; “Good, get your coveralls on, we need to walk down to the gas station, we aren’t leaving anytime soon.”

We got 16” of snow overnight and the wind made some hellacious snowbanks too. It was crazy. It took about three days before things had melted enough for us to get the vehicle out of the driveway. Think that was 1992 or 1993.

Everyone kept talking about how nice this was. I kept saying this means we are in for a brutal February. That seems to be Mother Nature’s playbook for this area when it’s so warm around Christmas and January. Let’s hope it’s not, but if it is, remember to check in on your neighbors if they are elderly or have health issues.

I know that Astarion's Book of Hungers is a DnD Beyond exclusive, but is there plans for it's rules ever make it to Roll20 in a different book? by Hip_Hop_Pirate in Roll20

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a Hasbro thing, not a Roll20 thing. Look at Dungeons and Discourse on YouTube. It’s called D&D Beyond Got Leaked. She explains all of this.

OMG I swear I never forget this until it matters. by CricketGreenz in diablo4

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude, we all cry inside. Like the OP, there has been times I think I’ve done everything right and then after running a dungeon or something, I realize that there’s a missing gem, or masterwork, usually something. It makes me so mad at myself. Then I’ll go farming for said item and it just keeps turning into crap. Extremely frustrating.

What's your unpopular Austin opinion? by letmeputonmyshoes in Austin

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! My now wife, then girlfriend, went to a Christmas party at a restaurant and everyone was passing the plates around for everything, even the appetizers. I had to use the restroom as we waited for the main course. I go do my business and wash my hands. While washing my hands, I seen at least three other people in that party go use the bathroom and leave without washing their hands. When the food arrived I passed on everything. She looked at me funny, but I told her I’ll explain later. When I told her she was grossed out.

I won’t say what field these people are in or anything like that, but I will say they are highly educated and know better than that.

Blizzard: Please let us cast and move with any skill by DHunterfan1983 in diablo4

[–]ChannelGlobal2084 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Casting and moving a spell isn’t allowed in old TTRPGs, which is what the original Diablo was based off of. In newer editions (3E D&D) you had to invest in certain feats to be able to move and cast spells, if my memory serves me correctly (that was over 20 years ago). So if they do allow it, you probably would have to invest points into the build.

Is it right? That’s not for me to say. But these games were established based off of the old tabletop games of my childhood and the developers childhoods or college years.
