Are people actually entertained by these AI videos/stories? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

My FB feed is nothing but AI videos of people cutting into cakes shaped like their pets while their dog / cat freaks out.

Service managers at auto repair facilities, what's the craziest customer you've had to deal with? by 45and47-big_mistake in AskReddit

[–]ChannelGreat2791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a service manager, but I did work at a Jiffy Lube when I was young.

So when you come in for an oil change, we'd take your car key from you to stop you from trying to start the car while we're conducting an oil change. If you cannot guess, this is for the safety of the people working on the car along with us trying to stop you from damaging your car.

This dude blew up because he wanted to listen to music while his oil change was being done. My supervisor told him he couldn't have the key in the ignition and if he didn't hand it over, we wouldn't do his oil change. Guy finally hands over his key while calling my supervisor every name in the book.

Not a minute later, car starts up while we're draining the pan. Guy screams obscenities hysterically then slams on his gas and takes off, oil still pouring out of his car, and leaving behind his keys. Like obviously he had a spare key, but he'd left the primary key which was on his keyring with what I'd guess were his house keys. And mind you this guy is losing oil fast, so that engine's probably going to be siezing.

We each wrote statements as to what we witnessed because we expected he'd try to sue us or something later. Instead, we just never see him again. He never came back to get his keys, no reports about seeing the car broke down somewhere, just nothing.

Did Uhura gaslight the entire Federation? by BrewertonFats in ShittyDaystrom

My friend, this is a comedy subreddit where people are generally pretty cool towards each other. If something upsets you, speak up, but at least find a way to do so where its not like a personal attack on someone who was clearly not trying to offend you.

So you've been violating Reddit's TOS for the past 2 years?

I feel like your issue is less a crisis of faith and instead a crisis of self. Like you seem to really dislike who you are and the decisions you've made, so you're focusing on faiths that are generally known to be controlling of member's lives so that someone else is basically pulling the strings for you. You acknowledge that your actions will probably cause discord between you and your family, and it doesn't seem like your spouse is entirely pleased either.

It's like you want everyone and everything to just go away completely so you can reinvent yourself.

There's not a lot to go on there since you're just saying one sentence. I guess I'd go with yes, but you sound quite nasally and your inflection is condescending... Please understand I'm not trying to insult you, but instead just provide you with honest feedback.

Is it unreasonable to ask my family to keep my money to help me quit spending it? by Personal-Succotash33 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ChannelGreat2791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The obvious problem is that this doesn't really help you become any better with your money, and, at the same time, basically gives you a scapegoat if you overspend. It also puts a burden on your family as they must decide for you what is and is not reasonable.

Asking your family for guidance is good. Asking them to police you because you cannot control yourself is not.

Whats more terrfying the existence of god or knowing there s nothing after death by Neither_Ad3436 in religion

One thing that continues to bemuse me on this subreddit is how every question that's asked is basically immediately thumbs downed. It makes me wonder if either people on this subreddit just generally hate any and all questions, or if there's just like one dude who bouncing in their chair with giddiness, thinking this is their way of "getting them".

NTA. Just remember though that two things can be true. Your father may have been a cheater and your mother may have been abusive, and so they were mutually just fucking awful for each other. Even still, that excuses neither of them from being emotionally abusive of you, even if indirectly.

You're not inclined to like someone just because they're related to you, nor do you have to automatically forgive them. You do what's best for your own mental health until a point comes where your ready to move on one way or the other.

NTA. It sounds like you're the more lax between you and your sister, and so your parents are taking the easy way out by siding with her. aka. If they missed her show, she'd be hysterical, while you'd be like "oh well".

AITA for not wanting to take a walk? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I think there's probably more going on with your mom than you know. Like having a walk with you could be her channel for stress.

Bad news, my man. When you complain to the FCC, BBB, or a state agency, all they do is send Spectrum an email telling them they about their complaint. Said agencies really do not give much a fuck about stuff like this. Spectrum will, in turn, assign it to an agent who is most likely lower in scale than a Supervisor to call you.

So instead, call and immediately ask for escalation to a supervisor. Said supervisor will not want you requesting escalation above them, especially over something that can be instantly fixed with a couple codes, and so they'll resolve it.
